Just had a great experience here. I've been thinking of doing this for several years and finally planned an evening with 5 girlfriends. We walked to the yurt from the base area, a very short trek. I wished it were a bit longer. The walk was really lovely, over packed powder. The company provided snowshoes, but I was fine in... More

We had the most amazing dinner in this yurt!! We walked a short distance, in the snow, to the yurt. Our guides to the yurt also served as our wait staff in the yurt. The chef and his staff were amazing. The food was wonderful. The only con to the whole experience was having to walk back after the wonderful... More

The Yurt is fun... somewhat contrived but fun. I'd give it a try. Oh, bring your own wine... what the have for sale is sub par compared to the meal. Dress warm... if they seat all 24 seats it will warm up in the Yurt but if they don't make sure you are dressed to basically sit outside... its not... More

This was such a fun thing to do! Very romantic. Walk through the snowy forest to a Yurt that is lit by kerosene lamps, watch the Chef and crew prepare a 5 course meal, socialize w/other folks at community styled tables, bring your own wine then walk back (roll back, because you're so full) to the Inn under the stars.

Dinner at the Yurt is a singular event. While more a cozy picnic, there is nothing else like it in Utah. Picnic doesn't do this event justice, however. The food is cooked inside the Yurt and truly commands the price tag. The chefs available are quite talented and love discussing their style and cuisine. This is no doubt a "foodie"... More

How fun to spend your birthday snowshoeing to a yurt under the stars. Beautiful night. Food was good. Make sure you go to the bathroom at the flying squirrel before heading out to the yurt

If you're staying in Solitude, a reservation for dinner at the Yurt is a must. Best food by far compared to the other local establishments, although a little pricey. Also, a lot of fun walking to the Yurt through the trees at dusk.

The Yurt is more of an exotic catering facility than a restaurant. While most dishes are finished in the Yurt's kitchen, most are also begun in the kitchen of St. Bernard's (the in-lodge restaurant of The Inn at Solitude - see separate Inn and St. Bernard's reviews). And that means the food is very good, but this is not an... More

this was a very fun time. there was no real need for snowshoes to get to the yurt on our evening (but I hear that they are necessary during big snowfalls), but we wore them anyway. the courses ranged from very good to excellent. We were very lucky to sit next to two other couples that were interesting conversationalists. (There... More
