Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We saw an advert for a 3 course meal for 2 for £30 so we gave it ago. The menu was really good they had a traditional menu and an a la cartè The food was really nice and freshly cooked. The staff were friendly...and gathered the plates sion after we finished. We didn't feel rushed at all. The pub had a great atmosphere They have lots of things going on in the evenings from comedy evenings and live music. They have a small farm shop on site With lots of outside space for the summerMore

Haven't been to the Potters Arms for a few years but after seeing a lunch or dinner deal we decided to have lunch and possibly visit with friends one evening. Loved the outside space and sorry we were going in October and had missed sitting...outside in the summer. The pub feels welcoming and the lovely young lady showed us to our table in the pub area with a cheery smile. Plenty to choose from on the menu and we ordered the trio of sausages and comfit duck leg with sticky toffee pudding to follow. The food was lovely the mains hot and puddings plentiful, the young ladies serving were brilliant and we've already purchased some more meal deals for a speedy return with friends one evening .More

Have visited before and it has been OK but recent visit was very disappointing. Lack of atmosphere in the restaurant area, food took ages to come out and when it did was very average, inexperienced waitresses, not that cheap. Will give it a miss for...a little while.More

Stayed here again for business as I’ve been before and wanted to come back. The staff are great and the food is exceptional. Please don’t ever stop serving the ribs. Amazing!! The rooms are not perfect but are clean, tidy, and have all what’s needed...including free Wi-Fi which works really well. Breakfast food again is very good and I will try to come back again when I’m anywhere near on my travels.More

We were prompted to dine here on the back of a voucher package but everything massively exceeded our expectations. The menu was wide-ranging with some creatively designed dishes and delicious flavours. With a few more decorative twirls it wouldn't have looked out of place on...MasterChef!! We are all foodies and not that easily impressed but WOW! The bubble and squeak starter was served with a hollandaise sauce and looked and tasted heavenly. Fishcake starter also yummy. And we all had different mains which were well presented, generously portioned and delicious. The service was up to the standard of the food. Oh and some interesting wines too... Fortunately we all live nearby so this little gem is set to become a regular haunt. Thank you so much to all the team. Alison and friendsMore

Today was our Thirtieth Wedding Anniversary. We decided that rather than go to anywhere we had been before, we would try somewhere new. My wife found and booked the Potter's Arms. It was out of our area and we decided we could have a little...trip out. It was a great choice. On arrival we were met by a young lady named Lauren who showed us to our reserved table. That's when life started to get difficult - what to choose from the menu? There were so many choices it was difficult to decide, but I can assure you that whatever you would have chosen, it would have been cooked to perfection. To start with I had Bubble and Squeak with poached egg and Hollandaise sauce. It was like a breakfast immediately before lunch! I followed that with a Steak and Ale pie, for which they kindly swapped the vegetables for me, leaving me with a main of my making. Full to the brim, I had to ask for dessert to be delayed a while. When I did finally feel able to go for it, it was delicious. I had poached pear in a star anise and red wine sugar syrup. It was a great trip to somewhere we had never been before and it was perfect. Lauren looked after us with a delightful "whatever you want" attitude. We have been, we have seen, we will return.More

We went for Sunday lunch. Choice of three meats which were delicious and plentiful with an assortment of veg. My son had the chicken burger and raved about it. Nice atmosphere and staff were good.

My wife recently organised a surprise special birthday party for me last night, at The potters Arms, which was my first visit there. What a lovely village pub. I have got to say a big thank you to Richard and his team for their hard...work serving 32 people and making the evening very special and memorable. Fantastic food and service to match, starting with canapés, the steak and horseradish were excellent 👍. Also various starters, mains and puddings were enjoyed by all. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. All I can say again, is thank you so much. Kind regards Steve and Rose. p.s. We’ll be back 👍👍👍👍More

Appreciate the owners have done a good job to keep the pub open in these trying times but you have to keep the punters coming.....we had travelled a fair way to meet our friends. Lovely location in a typical English village, inside and outside eating...areas, menu Gastro pub classics. Alas, our main meal the gammon was tough, thick and a few days old couldn't eat it so we took it home for the pooch. Mentioned it to the waitress who seemed indifferent, so was a bit disappointed must have been an off day.More

We hired this venue for family celebration following the funeral of my Father-in-Law at Amersham crematorium. From the initial visit to the end of the celebration, Richard and all his team were so thoughtful and faciliated the availability of music, photographic displays and our own...floral tributes. The food and drinks provided were of exceptional quality and were plenty sufficient for our 70 guests. we cannot recommend this venue enough for the service they provided for us. Even though we live 45 minutes away, we will come back to visit and enjoy a meal and their rather nice Marlow Brewery ales. Thank you, Potters Arms.More

The Potters Arms hosted my wedding reception in May and WOW what can I say! From booking the Potters in October 2022 until our wedding in May 2023, Richard could not have been more helpful and accommodating especially as I was organising it from Australia!...I put my trust in Richard and the fabulous staff to prepare and decorate the pub with a box of stuff I left with them the night before and they did not disappoint! I was blown away with the detail and effort they all put into it. We pre-ordered our starters, mains and desserts to make it less chaotic on the day and they absolutely smashed it! There was no waiting, all orders were right, the food was hot and delicious! I was inundated with messages from friends and family commenting on how good the food and service were! Thank you to Tobias & team for creating a fab menu and tasty food! The night carried on in the bar area and again, another comment from many is that nobody waited for a drink! Plenty of staff behind the bar that are all lovely and served us with smiles on their faces. Evening buffet was a selection of their popular pizza's which went down a treat and once again.... more comments from people who loved them! The Potters Arms, Richard and wonderful team made our wedding spectacular, and we thank you so so much! Terri & Sam xMore

Thank you for your enquiry, the garden is enclosed with a fence and two gates, we are right opposite the village green, with a park about 300 metres away if they want to go on swings and slides etc. Kind Regards, Richard
