Seven family members met for Saturday lunch. We were met by an amazing floral display around the sheltered terrace and noted that there was also an attractive garden but not that day as it was raining. The inside of the pub was cosy and welcoming...More

After reading all the glowing reviews of this Village Inn and its quality of food, we decided to book a table for Sunday lunch on my husband's Birthday. We live within walking distance which would mean we did not have to take the car and...More

Wow almost unbelievable review from you guys! Never had any comments about the temperature of food before so our sincere apologies if it wasn't up to our usual high standard. I have asked my staff working on Sunday if they remember any comments about anyones...More

Hadn't been for awhile and decided it's long over due for a visit. Was very impressed with the quality of the food, staff and the over all friendliness of everyone. A real village local where everyone wants a chat at the end of the week...More

Who doesn't love 'ye olde English pub?'. I say English because, although there are also great pubs in Wales, they are sadly lacking in Scotland. They are missing out on a treat. I went with a friend and we were made very welcome in this...More

Visiting the area and found this place and as we were starving popped it for something to eat. Wish we hadn't bothered! Sausages were over cooked and the gravy had no taste to it. Staff appeared friendly to locals/regulars but not overly so to us,...More

This is a proper pub - not like a 'gastro pub' - but the food is delicious. The chef is good. I visit fairly regularly with my elderly mother and we always enjoy it. The white Rioja is excellent too!

Lovely pub with excellent food every time we visit. Attentive bar staff who recommended the haddock and sweet potato fishcakes , and they were definitely worthy of being on the specials menu! Cooked to perfection and we had a lovely meal, we will be back!

We are situated in the heart of the picturesque Buckinghamshire village of Taplow, close to the historic river Thames, in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Whether you are just dropping in for a quick drink or are planning to have a meal, you can always expect a warm and friendly welcome and a place where you can relax and get away from the stresses and strains of daily life. Our extensive menus cover everything from a quick snack to three course meals. We also have a good selection of fine wines from which you can choose to complement your meal. In the summer months, you can, if you wish, eat alfresco on our lovely patio or in the garden. There are many places of historical interest nearby, including Cliveden House, former home of Lord and Lady Astor, which was infamously associated with the 'Profumo Affair'. Also of interest is St Nicholas church, which is in the village itself.
