Firstly I want to highlight that the food was tasty and in line with what you’d expect for fried tapas. I have eaten at Bohemia during the day a few times and will go back, but did not feel the evening menu/tapas wasn’t great value,...especially if you compare it to the daytime menu, which is fabulous. I get tapas is about small dishes, but there is a balance vs the price.
For example, cod bites at £8.50 was 6 popcorn sized bits of fried cod, tasty, but expensive. Maybe we were just unlucky. Tender stem was the same however, three stems for c£7.
The service is friendly but the team were really busy. That meant service was slow, over 20 minutes wait for the first drinks order. The team were apologetic however, and were clearly doing their best.
The food was brought out as and when, we’d get a dish, then maybe have a 25 minute wait for the next. It was all hot and the sauces and seasoning made the basic dishes tasty. If I was to go back of an evening however, I would allow 2.5 hours plus based on this experience.
We narrowly avoided having to sit directly in front (less than 1.5m ) from the opening of single toilet door. I felt sorry for the next couple who did get it, and heard them asking to be moved too. We had booked a fair way in advance too. I get times are difficult for businesses, and you need to make the most of the space. but this wasn’t a nice place to sit. Especially when people started waiting outside of it to go in. Thankfully a member of staff moved them over to another toilet.
7 dishes oftapas and a couple of drinks came to about £85. We had one dish refunded for to it not arriving and us running out of time.
We will definitely go back at some point to see if we had just picked a difficult night, but I much prefer the daytime
