We had a nice meal tonight and both meals were tasty. Would recommend and would take other family members there even the ones from london ( they expect a lot from restaurants). Can't see kids menu so this would prevent whole family going.

Another fantastic meal in a place that is attentive without being intrusive, food that is cooked and served perfectly and without fussiness. Amazing flavours, cooked exactly as requested, and served excellently and promptly.

Not knowing the area booked by search engine. Lunch menu fab. Fish and chips best ever, butcher’s sausages meaty and very tasty. My vegan risotto amazing, a real surprise to have something other than a lasagne. Definitely would recommend and we will certainly go again.

This is a really lovely pub/restaurant. Nice friendly staff. Great food. Compliments to the chef. My husband had steak which was cooked medium, just as he asked. I had chicken marsala. Which again was great. This place, in our view, is the best in Wisbech....My only complaint would be that the place was a bit too cool. I like to be warm and, with the cooler nights, it would have been nice to see the fire lit. Which makes it look so cosy and draws people in.More

Bank Holiday Monday family get together. We only see each other a few times a year so we enjoy eating out together when we can. Having studied the website to find the chef had trained with Marco Pierre White, the food menu looked OK, with...an extensive wine list and cocktails on offer, we thought we were onto a winner. Cat-fished is the only expression that springs to mind..... As a tradition, we like to arrive about an hour before the table so we can all catch up and enjoy a drink prior to our meal. Ordered a cocktail only to be told by the lady that she cant make all of them as she hasn't been trained. It all went downhill from there....... We had to sit ourselves down at a table we presumed was for our party as only one member of staff was working behind the bar and on the restaurant floor, bear in mind this is bank holiday monday and people are flowing through the door at a steady pace..... Tom then turned up to take our food order, which thankfully, due to his upbeat personality and high level of service redeemed the experience, but only slightly. Without him we would have probably left due to the incapability of this establishment. Slow service, forgotten drinks, dirty plates left on tables (all due to the lack of staff) the entire experience was just a struggle to get through. Food was mediocre, if Marco had seen what was being served he would have wondered why his training hadn't been put to better use. Macaroni & Cheese was just abysmal, no taste or favour, desserts were also inedible, dry brownie and flat sticky Toffee pudding. Its a big no from us, avoid at all costs!!! Tom - you are wasted here, our only hope is you get snapped up by someone/somewhere who can see and use your full potential. Being from the hospitality industry myself, I understand how hard the industry has been hit since covid, however, that isn't an excuse for this establishment. Its simply appalling management (appalling in the sense there just isn't any) rubbish food and young adults doing their best for minimum wage no doubt.More

Visited the Elm tree in on 25/8 for a company get together. Approx 20 of us sat and ate burgers / chicken / pork / kebabs and sausages all cooked from the outdoor BBQ. All this was accompanied with a range of salads and chips....The quality of the meat was superb, and cooked perfectly. Will defiantly be returning to try other parts of the menu.More
