Just returned from a family early Christmas meal at The Oliver Twist, and as a retired Chef/Hotelier of 50 years, I find it a pleasure to give this charming Inn/restaurant a 5* rating. From the warm, friendly greeting, through the three course Xmas menu to the perfect coffee, it was excellent- the Lamb Crumble (yes!) is a must and other... More

We went on a Sunday evening and I had the Crab Rosti followed by Beef & Bacon Lasagne - first class with excellent flavours and textures. My partner had home-made soup followed by Nut Roast and declared this the best she had tasted for a very long time; a good selection of fresh vegetables properly cooked (not mushed) and well... What a disappointment..we went here for Sunday roast after reading the reviews on here and i wish we hadn't bothered. My son ordered off the children's menu sausage and mash but it came with chips so I asked the waitress could we have mash as it had said that on the menu and she looked rather annoyed and said she'll... Nice people and a really good chef. We had the lamb crumble, which is a bit different to the usual menu elsewhere, and along with everything else was delicious. Very good portions at a fair price. I am really happy to have found this restaurant so close to home.

This has to be one of the best places to eat in Wisbech and surrounding villages. The menu has alot of variety and the quality of the ingredients is locally sourced. I would recommnend the steak cooked the right way..actually all the menu is recommended.and the handmade ice cream.

We decided to celebrate our anniversary by trying a new restaurant. We booked a table with a very friendly receptionist and then called back to change the time. (We did not tell her it was our anniversary.) The restaurant is very clean, the atmosphere very welcoming. We began with the amuse-bouche of chorizo, olives and feta. It was a very... More

Ate here with friends as part of a birthday weekend. Service excellent, staff very pleasant. Food of good quality and decent sized portions. Kept us informed when there was a delay due to an unexpected large party. It did not spoil our evening. Good variety of beers and lager, wine list could have been a bit better but that is... More

My partner and I visited the Oliver twist for the first Time this evening. I ordered fish and chips and my partner ordered rump steak. The fish and chip's consisted of a massive pile of soggy chips of various sizes, a thin piece of cod in a thick batter sitting on top, with a side portion of mushy peas. At... More
