Second meeting of the secret supper club. Appetiser of pork crackling, olives, breads with olive oil and balsamic vinegar and candied walnuts. Starters enjoyed tonight were tomato soup, pate and a blue cheese and candies walnut salad. For mains we had trio of sausage, steak and ale pie and scampi. Very prompt, well cooked, tasty food. Well done. Will return,... More

The pub is opposite the holiday cottage we were staying in and came with good reviews from the letting agents. Booked for the first night of our holiday and suffice to say we paid 2.subsequent visits before we left a week later! A very warm welcome from landlord and all the staff, and also the locals. The food was fresh,... More

I've eaten here a on a couple of different occasions when visiting family and it is consistently excellent. Their breakfasts are tasty, full of quality local produce and plentiful. The main meals are varied, the specials board is just that and the range of desserts very good. Portion sizes are generous, the service is excellent too and I couldn't say... More

Called in for a refreshing drink after a 9mile walk along the bank today. Roaring fire, comfortable seating, friendly barmaid. Friends I was with tell me that the food, incl. Sunday lunches is lovely (so I haven't rated the food). Looking at menu boards the descriptions sounded good. Prices seemed a little better than other pub Sunday lunches too. Large... More

Called in after viewing the Swans at the wildlife centre. Blazing fire friendly smile from behind the bar. Asked if possible to have food as looked fairly busy for a Thursday, given a table near fire... toasty. Serve food til 8pm Specials on board looked tasty but settled for a curry (was curry night) fresh popadoms fab flavour couldn't fault,... More

Called in on the way to Welney WWT, and were delighted with the food, the atmosphere was cosy and the staff friendly and efficient. Will definitely return to this pub again.

Called in with my wife just for an impromptu evening out. My wife had Barnsley Chop a first for her she will have again. I had the Gammon with egg and pineapple. It was perfect. The best thing was the chunky chips. This is a pub restaurant so the staff have other things to do. But everything was well timed... More

I have eaten here before with larger parties and choosing before you arrive has worked well and food delivered quickly and was great quality. All appeared to enjoy. This time it was a 'walk in'. Food again was mighty fine but it did take quite a while to arrive. I enjoyed and there was one table in front of us... More

Called in a couple of years ago and had a bar meal and we were really impressed and had been meaning to go back and book a table in the restaurant. Finally managed to do that last week after looking at the excellent reviews on here and was disappointed. The table as behind a pillar and we had to get... More

Description
This is a pub in a very quiet village in Cambridgeshire we went for a meal on a Groupon voucher and would have willingly paid the full price, the food and service was excellent (they also have rooms) much better than you would expect for such an out of the way place. It is also near the Wetlands and Wildfowl Trust which is worth a visit
