After a hot and tiring day what do you need? A good pub and thats what we found. Stopped for a cold drink initially and booked for a meal early evening. Great idea! Food and drink excellent and really pleasant staff. Thank you so much...😁👍More
We went for an early evening dinner and have to say everything was excellent. The service by friendly and helpful staff. The food was very good, we had 4 different meals which we all enjoyed with very generous portions. Desserts were all excellent. Hadn’t been...since before the dreaded C and had forgotten what a little gem this place is.More
Visited here after completing 'Heartbreak Hill' on the nearby Canal, and wanted to enjoy a nice last night meal before our holiday finished. Looked up various restaurants and found this to have solid reviews and it didnt disappoint. No requirement to book, although it was...busy which was good as we were a party of 4 adults and 2 children. Meals were all really well cooked, but have the skin on fries as they were the best tasting and looking.
Scampi, Gammon and pies all choices we had, and one of the children had sausage and chips and all portions were generous and huge.
Always believe in credit for great service and our waitress (Katie) was excellent. Took a picture of all of us for our trip memories and was exceptionally attentive. Thank you for making our last night food excellent.More
I have been to this pub many a time for a drink but not since it has been serving food. This was my first time going to the pub for food and I have to say the food is excellent. We went to celebrate my...dad's birthday and was told to try hear from my sister. My sister was not wrong. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent and not bad prices either. The only thing my dad said and this is just down to personal choice no reflection on the food was the vegetables were a little hard but liked them like that. I would definitely go back to this pub for a family meal.More
The service and food here is phenomenal especially as they work under such difficult restricted conditions , which had no impact on us as diners. The food is cooked to perfection and its a great place to sample good wholesome English food. If you like...perfect pub food that is well above average at less than average prices for the quality, then treat yourself here. Very attentive staff who are aware to your requirements.More
I have visited the White Bear fairly regularly since it's opening a number of years ago and have been for food and drinks a few times during the Pandemic.
Staff are always friendly and supportive, wearing masks at all times and very vigilant in cleaning...tables between bookings and staff are attentive with table service.
Great selection of real ales and food smelled amazing, I didn't eat on this occasion, although the menu is varied and offers great value meals.
I would definitely recommend a visit after this lockdown.More
I have seen the review earlier and
I have to say I am gobsmacked. I have been going to the White Bear since it opened and have no faults. I have drank coffee, wine, beer and eaten there and all is just great. In a...pandemic we are also experiencing, Paul and his staff have served us with all safety measures in place and have been very conscientious. One negative review about a cup of coffee is very poor. I would suggest experiencing the food, ambience and the service is second to none....please visit and don't let one negative comment cement your choice. Our first choice of venturing out the four walls is always the White Bear...More
Would just like to say this place is like my living room the staff are amazing the food is scrummy and the coffee is the best coffee I've ever tasted so please visit and make one of your places to visit
I couldn't believe the last review. I was in there only on Monday and enjoyed a fantastic cup of coffee. It's genuine Italian ground coffee from Kimbo. It tasted superb. And if it hadn't then I would have been the first to have drawn the...bar manager's attention to it. To rush off without raising with the staff and post your first entry on Tripadvisor seems rather suspect to me.
The next time I go in - and I will - I'm going to enjoy another coffee and suggest that a Lotus caramelised biscuit (my favourites) would be the perfect accompaniment to their coffee.More
