Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Interesting old coaching Inn. Friendly welcoming staff and quaint lay out of building We were offered drinks at the table and later selected our food The Sunday Lunch was attractively served and plentiful trays of locally grown vegetables delivered to the table. Another major point...for this establishment was that gravy was served separately. Too full for desert but enjoyed a coffee from a good selection Certainly a small venue but to be recommended for the foodMore

l am writing to express my dissatistaction with the recent experience I had at Red Cow. As a non-pork eater, I specifically ordered a dish from the menu that did not contain this meat. However, upon receiving my meal after a 30-minute wait, which I...had already paid for in advance, I was dismayed to discover that it contained pork. While the dish appeared visually appealing, upon tasting it, I detected an unpleasant flavor that. It was pork!!! When I inquired with the waitress about the presence of pork in the dish, she was initially unaware and had to consult the kitchen staff. She later informed me that it was a "classic recipe." Furthermore, I was disappointed that no alternative options were immediately offered to accommodate my dietary restrictions. It was only after I inquired about pork-free options that I was begrudgingly offered a burger without bacon, which took an additional 20 minutes to prepare. Although the burger patty itself was tasty, as someone who dislikes caramelized onions, 1 was unable to enjoy half of the burger. What struck me the most was the lack of consideration for allergens, failure to disclose the full ingredients of the dish, absence of an apology, and the failure to offer a refund for the misrepresented meal. I cannot in good conscience recommend your establishment to others. It is my suggestion that you revisit your staff training on customer service and attentiveness to dietary needs.More

Great family dinner! Four of us booked having heard good things from friends, we weren’t disappointed! Can’t believe we’ve always lived in Nantwich and never been here! For drinks it’s cosy and comfortable and we will certainly visit again as a local stop in for...drinks. Staff were friendly and welcoming and our drink orders and food order were taken promptly. Great choice on the menu, I had black pudding scotch egg and moroccan sausage and caramelised onion mash and gravy, it was all delicious and well presented. Rest of the family all finished their plates including pie of the day, fish pie and pulled pork. Drinks were great and prompt. Really reasonable price we felt given quality of food. Will definitely be coming back for food and drinks. Can’t wait to use the garden in the summer.More

Tried to book room for my wifes birthday over a month ago. Their website only accepts enquiries which I understand but I didn't seem to get an acknowledgement. I tried again yesterday, still nothing. Called to query and was advised the I was booked in...and an email was sent which, it turns out, had gone into my 'junk' folder obviously not their fault. I commented its a good job I called I didn't want to be a 'no-show'. The young lady maintained I'd raised my voice (I didn't) which upset her and she promptly cancelled my booking. They would not accept an apology for any upset caused however inadvertent. This has ruined my wifes birthday plans as we had a wonderful family meal for 8 at Christmas and really wanted to go back. I have been to the Red Cow many times over the last 30 years but I think those times are over as I've never been made to feel so bad! I really hope they can afford to throw away regular custom.More

Went for Sunday lunch today and it was great. Delicious food (the biggest Yorkshire pudding ever!), vegetables and gravy beautifully served in separate dishes and excellent service. Lovely atmosphere and, best of all, I discovered it is a dog friendly pub so my 4 legged...friend will be coming with me next time. I will definitely be back.More

Very enjoyable. Very friendly staff greeted us, nice table with room around it. Wonderful service - drinks orders taken swiftly. Enough time given for choices, then orders done promptly. Very good varied menu choices for all appetite sizes. All food arrived together and staff made...sure we had anything else we needed on a regular basis. Very good value for the quality and quantity of food. Our group said we would certainly go again.More

The best pint of real ale in Nantwich on a consistent basis, Robinson’s Unicorn. Food has always been excellent on numerous visits. Look out for the hidden food classics by another name… Salmon wellington = salmon en croute. Smoked haddock omlette = omelette Arnold Bennett....Roast pork italian style = Porchetta. Sunday lunch epic. A proper well run family pub. Dog friendly!More

Visited and quickly shown to our table by very pleasant staff who were also professional and competent. The venue was pleasantly warm and had good atmosphere. After waiting for our mains the cheese and potato pie was very bland as was the sauce the potatoes...were small pieces of cut potato still with skin on. A new one to me . . £17 for a pie and pot of sauce and shredded cabbage The chicken pie also lacked in flavour. A relatively small portion of chips £5 which were overcooked. Staff again thanked us for our custom on leaving. Okay but wouldn’t rush back sorry to say.More

The food was okay but paying £10. 40 for a glass of (250ml) house wine 🍷 was disgusting, more than you would pay for on cruise ships. NEVER AGAIN!
