After a lovely long walk around this village we were in great need of refreshments. We were greeted by a very friendly lady who took our order and gave us a much needed drink. The lunch was brought to us quickly. It was lovely! So sad to hear that the Swan was being taken over in September. I am sure... More

This is a traditional pub and so do not expect a Gastro Pub experience. The menu was limited but 'honest' the prices were cheap and the food basic but with large servings. Its in the middle of a beautiful village with good walking and car parking it is dog friendly so if you take it for what it is you... More

Even though we arrived for a late lunch, the staff were very welcoming and friendly. They quickly rustled us up some reasonably priced good pub grub which was very welcome after a cold walk, and the local beer (its still a freehouse) was excellent. Strolling round the pretty village afterwards, other locals were also very friendly, and the church is... More

Trying to visit as many villages as we can before moving to the North East, This is one of the best Sunday Roasts we have had, cooked just the way we like it.

There is a locals' bar feel to it in the evening. They do some interesting bar snacks. Try the home made scotch egg with runny yolk. It's huge! The food is always very good and the staff are attentive.

Omg cannot believe how bad the food and service in this establishment has become. This use to be the jewel in the crown of this village , very sad to see it like this.

Visited for a sunday lunch with my family of 4 adults one child. Not much to go wrong with a set sunday meal one thinks....was I mistaken! It was the closest meal I have eaten to a poor school meal for 45 years!! Liquid mashed potato, shop bought value yorkshire pudding! White cabbage, solid gravy...barely edible and we aren't fussy...
