Arrived on Steak night, went to place food order, they had ran out of steaks by 6.45pm! Ordered alternative meals, curry didn't have much meat in the dish, scampi tastless and not crispy, peas tasted like they had been rinsed in washing up liquid. Meals...pricey.Drink prices reasonable. Staff were friendly. Would visit again for drinks only and a bag of crisps!More

So a group of 4 of us went here for a meal to be screamed at! We have gone here before and never got asked for Id so one of us didn’t think to bring it , the older lady who was working accused him...of stealing others drinks when she had no evidence to support this. As Covid is around it is one address only which she did ask if we all lived together and we did say yes . After eating the whole meal and ordering drinks she came over very aggressively asking us all to write down our postcodes ... she had seen 3 of the 4 id’s with out addresses on 😡 The land Lady is vile with no people skills or customer service skills !!! Will never go again and recommend everyone to avoid unless you want to be shouted at !More

Our first and last visit to this pub. We waited 45 minutes for our food in a pub that wasn’t very busy. I had ordered the steak pie and the meat in it was disgusting. Not sure what was wrong with it but didn’t taste...like beef steak. I was unable to eat it. My partner tried it and agreed it was awful.More

This is our local pub, offers a good selection of real ales and the food menu is varied and if good quality. Highly recommended for lunch and dinner!

Three of us had to meet up, all coming from different directions to head off into Manchester so picked the Fox. Had never been there before and what a lovely surprise. The place was immaculate, the bar staff friendly and attentive. Outside was very clean...and tidy. We did not eat as did not have the time but, as a single woman, it is a pub I would feel happy to go to by myself if I had to wait for a train.More

We ate here a few months ago and although the prices were reasonable, the food tasted and looked like it was straight out of the freezer, with little taste or care in preparation. For a very old pub, it's not exactly welcoming either, and although...we've tried to warm to it by going for a drink occasionally, we just can't.More

I went with 3 friends for lunch and we could not fault the food. If anything there was too much but it was nicely cooked and well served. It wasn't busy but there only appeared to be one person serving. We would go again but...I would recommend they try smaller portion sizes or do a pensioners special lunch choice.More

The food took 35 minutes to arrive for a sandwich, chips and chicken wings. The chips had an awful taint to them which meant they couldn’t be eaten and the bar staff seemed put out to have to serve. The waitress was pleasant & helpful.
