We had been camping down the road with family and friends and decided to grab a pub meal. We ended up here and was a little daunted at the start as you walk in and it feels like a student pub in the middle of the lakes. However, it's got more beers on tap than I have ever seen and... More

Accidently ended up spending rather a few hours in here a few weeks ago whist camping in Boot. The choice and taste of the beers and lagers were excellent, the house wine was also very good. The atmosphere was lovely, the home made pizzas and burgers were excellent (even if we did have a slightly undercooked burger, which was changed... More

We found this establishment whilst walking on holiday. The position of the inn is perfect for when you've completed a walk, partway through a walk or to drive to. Set among the most beautiful scenery, it's complete heaven. We visited during July when the weather was amazing and sat outside in the most fantastic sun trap of a garden! Having... More

We found the woolpack by car, after a run in with the pass. WOW! We stopped for a drink and stayed for a meal. The new member of staff was so lovely she was so friendly and helpful, Fantastic service!! The food came out quickly and was hot and fresh. ( As a cook I was impressed) The food was... More

Having enjoyed the best walk of our holiday and realizing time was getting late, my husband ran ahead to the Woolpack Inn in the hope of placing a food order. Arriving out of breath at 8.55pm he was promptly told only pizzas were being served, so he ordered a coke and waited for me. As we were handed the menu... More

We visited on Tuesday for our evening meal and were not disappointed. We received a very friendly welcome from all of the staff and the service was excellent. On such a lovely evening we could could have sat inside or out, we chose to sit inside and admired a local artists work of pictures of cattle and sheep all for... More

We visited on a Saturday evening in June and it was a lovely buzzy atmosphere in the bar area, staff were friendly and the food was good. I had a wood fired pizza which was yummy as were the beef dripping chips and my OH had the famous fish and chips which were very nice but the fish was a... More

OMG! The woman who owns the place was so rude to us, for no reason whatsoever, it was shocking. The other staff apologised saying that she sometimes gets verbally abusive when she's drunk. We left our drinks and just got out of there.
