Since pandemic we have ordered numerous takeaway meals and they have all been excellent and cannot be faulted. Service was exceptional and Laura and James have excelled to keep the pub going. I can thoroughly recommend this establishment for excellent food, craft beers and service....No body will be disappointed when the visit as the service cannot be bettered.More

We arrived without a booking but a really friendly woman named Michaela squeezed us in and was lovely throughout our time there. I had the vegan option, a tomato and red pepper risotto. It was perfectly cooked and so delicious, I wolfed the whole thing...down in about 3 minutes! The only minor disappointment was that the garlic bread that comes with the vegan option isn't actually vegan, so I couldn't have that. I frequently see garlic bread knocked up for vegans using either oil or margarine as a substitute, so it was a shame they couldn't have managed that, but the meal was delicious and if we lived in the area I would definitely go back.More

Decent little pub with good pub grub. Starters were tasty although the breadcrumb coating on the goujons and the Mac and cheese balls was a little overdone. The scampi my partner had was delicious as was the ribeye steak I had. You could tell the...meat was locally sourced. The chips were AMAZING!! We both had an ice cream sundae to finish. I can tell you that the Oreo one was magnificent.More

Booked a table for the last night of our family holiday, they were able to accommodate the 9 of us over 2 tables. We were asked to preorder starters and mains which wasn't a problem. The service was great and the food was outstanding. There...was a large choice of Desserts, which were amazing. Would highly recommend for a meal out whether a family like us of a couple and plan to visit again next time we are up in the Lakes.More

Well, booked a table for a family of 5. And honestly they couldn’t have been more helpful. Had a could of conversions about getting us in and had sent a pre order of the food over with a few alterations. I can understand in these...times that restaurants have to limit menus so that they can function in these times. There was No Children’s menu, but they made the little one a main course which was brilliant. We arrived 5 mins early and were met by an enthusiastic young man who got us to our table, the COVID system that appeared to be in place was very good. Apart from the locals didn’t care much for that, so the carefully marked out one way system was ignored and a chain of people coming in and out of the door directly behind us was uncomfortable. As it was meant to be an out door only. Also for the first 15mins we sat at our table unattended, while a table of 4 locals in that time were quickly met by name/ drinks order taken and drinks arrived, while I had to go to the bar and ask if we could be attended to. So for me, that sort of left me in edge for the rest of the night, as now I know that I have had to sort of complain and this never goes down well with the staff, so there is a tension and everyone’s night is ruined. When we did get the first course it was fine and everyone ate. Main course was ok, but the Gammon my middle daughter had looked a little rushed and was dried out a bit. Desert was good, but what missed the mark for me was that I got my very nice sticky toffee pudding with custard!!!! This honestly was the highlight of my night.. but the jar of custard that arrived wasn’t pourable, and was only just, a desert spoon full. Story of the night🤦🏼‍♂️ Anyway it tasted great. Bill was £115 and still left a £15 tip so £130 total. I am not the sort of person to demand money be knocked off (unless it is really bad) and I don’t believe anything was that bad. It is hard enough in these time, but point of order to the Punch Bowl, if you want people to come back (.Which I don’t think I will) I know it’s hard at the min, but it’s the little things that go a long wayMore

We ate here on their Tuesday 'Burgers and Shakes' menu. Easy to book a table, friendly service and delicious food. It wasn't quick but it was really good when it came. A variety of local real ales on offer too which was nice.

Ordered Sunday roast to collect today - absolutely fantastic, lamb, roast and mash potatoes, carrots, peas, broccoli, gravy and my particular favourite giant Yorkshire pudding! Every bit as delicious as when you eat in and really good value for money. I hope the Punch Bowl...goes from strength to strength now they’ve been able to reopen. Give it a try! You won’t regret it.More
