Having only been open a few weeks, everything is brand new and exceptionally clean. On arrival we were greeted by Sam the Manager who was friendly, informative and professional. Our room was Great Gable, it was beautiful, and decorated to a high standard. We had a couple of drinks in bar, which was very busy. Our evening meal was lovely,... More

Excited to revisit this popular Pub after its revamp following the disastrous fire . However , the refirb is well done ,but the food needs serious attention . We were put in what they called the Snug , and it certainly lived up to its name and snug it was with very cramped seating arrangements .. Back to the food... More

We have stayed at this place before the fire actually left the day before the fire. The food then when was superb and I would have recommended It. We called in for a drink one lunchtime and was very impressed with the refurb and tried to book a table for that night but was told no food was being served... More

We were regular visitors to the old Queens Head because it provided a mix which is surprisingly rare in the Lake District - old country pub charm with very good quality gastropub food. The newly re-opened Queens Head has been refurbished in a manner which is sympathetic to its original structure and style. The drinks menu, whilst retaining some of... More

Stayed for one night in Esk Fell room. The room was beautifully presented to a very high standard with a very comfortable bed, could not fault it at all. From the arrival to the departure the staff were very nice and professional. The accommodation was very comforting and clean, as for the bar area and restaurant we would have to say it was outstanding and all for a fair price. The little touches make all the difference there are even blankets for customers to use when wanting to sit... More

50 or more years ago this was the in place for the young - they even came up from Manchester to go to what was then probably a pretty dirty, haphazard place but it had bags of atmosphere! It has been shrouded in tarpaulins for years due to a fire - which had been waiting to happen no doubt. But... More

Great little pub that has just been refurbished. The place was busy but we still got a friendly welcome and pretty fast service for our light lunch. Th onion rings were a huge hit. Well done guys, it looks great, the food was nice and the staff were sweet. We'll be back.
