nice cafe, next to the aquarium, that serves value snacks and good hot drinks by friendly staff. It is clean and has a great log-burner to chase away the chilly winds that were sweeping around the harbour

The Harbourside Cafe is next to the Aquarium in Maryport, and it is a great place to eat after visiting the aquarium, or just for a cuppa after a walk around the harbour. We are regular visitors to the cafe both with and without grandchildren and the food and service are always excellent. The cafe has lots of tables, a... More

Me and my boyfriend came for a late lunch at around 4.15pm on a Sunday. It was very quiet apart from a few people. The food seemed expensive for what it was but the portion size was good. Staff seemed friendly.

We...well me, I was surprised that they sell fish and chips there it reminded me of Hong Kong fish market looking at all the fish swimming in tanks then sitting down and being served the same spices of fish you just saw in the tank 5 minutes ago. So I had an old day breakfast. My partner got fish and... More

Whether you have just enjoyed a visit to the adjacent Aquarium or just popped in. Be assured of freshly cooked food and a welcoming cuppa, sitting in the cafe overlooking the harbour, you won't be disappointed.

The place is child friendly as it is attached to the aquarium. The menu is extensive and the cakes nicely set out. The device is uber-friendly and extremely efficient. Good value for money and I really like it here. Only draw back is getting through the gift shop on the way out can be a bit of a trial with... More

I often visit this restaurant. Never had a complaint. Delicious food. Friendly staff. I have recently commented about more gluten free options which I am pleased they have more of but I still struggle to find a main meal I can have.... This is no fault of the restaurant staff... Being dairy free and gluten free, along with not being... More

Nice cup of tea and toasted teacake served by friendly staff. Fantastic view of the harbour. Only place to be open on Monday afternoon after 4p.m. I found so useful to know if you are waiting for someone.

This is a first rate friendly cafe/restaurant. We are not talking Michelin Star quality, but good home made food and good value for money. Recommended for families as it is child friendly without putting adults off as it is not too noisy.

Thank Maurice T

The Harbourside Cafe is a well established business with a fantastic location on the water's edge on Historic Maryport seafront. On clear days you can see across the Solway Firth to Scotland. We offer a very good choice on our menu, much of it freshly prepared and with options for seafood lovers and vegetarians. Fresh ground coffee and home made scones for some, Cumberland Sausage Baguettes for others. In Winter try a home made soup as you enjoy the warmth from our woodburing stove, in Summer sit outside on the patio and try our delicious Englsih Lakes dairy ice cream. Parking, soem of it free, is available right outside with easy access for the disabled. No wonder we are poular with locals and visitors alike.
