Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was an experience I wasn’t expecting! The food and coffee were delightful. The furniture was so tasteful I asked where they had bought it. There is a library in the loo. In the shop is a vintage clothes section where I bought a stunning...evening dress. The final purchase was a local ghost story book to help pass the dark nights! A wonderful way to pass an icy cold morning!!!!!!More

Her Citi is a comfortable place to eat with a lovely atmosphere. The afternoon tea was excellent and was stated as the best afternoon tea we'd ever had. Debbie is always so pleasant and obliging, she is happy to arrange anything requested if at all...possible. It is also good to look at the various housewares for sale and also the clothing ( which I have on other occasions purchased). Her Citi is definitely a place I am happy to review.More

It's tucked away in a back street. We found it en route back into town after a fascinating morning at the Senhouse Roman Museum. We couldn't have had a more perfect light lunch, with really friendly service - and, in my case, washed down with...an unexpectedly rewarding, alcoholic, dandelion and burdock! But don't be confused by the window display - just go inside and enjoy!More

We attended for afternoon tea, sat down with a chat with the owner and made to feel welcome and happy. A pot of tea and a large gin started the afternoon. A play EPF sandwiches came out, egg, ham, salmon, cheese and ham to name...a few.Ffooled by the size of the plate i asked for more which was given without issue. Little did I know there was a second round of cake and scones to come. The Scottish tablet was a particular delight, with a lovely raspberry mouse which really cleansed the pallet. We spent about 2 hrs on the place eating chatting with the staff and looking at the clothing on sale. We left with full bellies, a great experience and my wife had 2 jackets. All in all this was a great afternoonMore

Superb lunch yesterday. Catered outstandingly well for my Type 1 diabetic food requirements. Absolutely beautifully presented, imaginative and delicious salad. My friend had exceptionally tasty soup, cheese scone and cake. Unusually high level of attention to detail and a very strong desire to have happy...customers. Wish there was something nearly as good in Penrith! We'll come back to Maryport just to eat here again. Thank you.More

Visited on Tuesday 11 October whilst on a 2 week holiday after reading the other reviews. I'm so glad I did. The food is outstanding. The soup was clearly homemade and tasted superb. The paninis were very full and delicious, accompanied with crisps and salad....The shop itself adds to the experience as it has a unique ambience and some history to it which the owner kindly explained to us. All in all a must go to in Maryport - the best coffee and lunch in town with a story to tell and an owner with personality and warmth.More

Lovely cafe just down from Georgian Fleming Square and not far from the Roman Museum. Food was home cooked and delicious with generous portions and great value for money. The panini was the most filled we’ve ever seen with a beautiful salad. The lemon meringue...pie was fabulous. Debbie the owner was so welcoming and the cafe had a warm ambiance with a display of art and lovely furniture. Would highly recommend.More

We visited for the first time with our tandem on Saturday and will definitely be returning. Such a friendly and welcoming little tea room, serving delicious coffee and lovely homemade tea cakes. The owner was so friendly and let us leave our tandem in the...outside seating area while we visited which was so kind and very much appreciated. The cakes looked amazing too! For another time. Would highly recommend this lovely cafe on a visit to Maryport.More
