Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed at the B&B and also had an evening meal there. A warm atmosphere with good food. Bedroom very large but not en suite, though we were the only only users of the bathroom which was also quite large. The small amount of shower gel...available made me think that rationing was still on. Adequate tea and coffee making facilities. Slept well and it was very quiet Breakfast really good quality and made to order.More

We were staying in Sedbergh for my 50th Birthday, booked at table at this pub for 7.30pm, we arrived at pub for 7.20pm, went to the bar to say we had a table booked, she replied, it was booked for 7 and I've given your...table away, we stop serving food at 7.30, she threw the menus on the bar and said if you want food there is no steak or fish.....we decided to leave.......had nothing to eat until the following morning as there was no where else open or serving food......Great experience 🙊More

It was quite a lively and rowdy pub when we first arrived, with a variety of people there. The people were very friendly and the staff were welcoming and approachable. We all really enjoyed our meals (the portions were huge too!). It was good value...for what we got and my sticky toffee pudding was delicious. We would come again if near Sedbergh in the future as they're dog friendly too.More

Our experience of this wonderful old traditional pub was marred by foul language and smoking in an outside covered drinking and eating area . Other customers also had to endure this behaviour with it being brought to the attention of management. Perhaps your enjoyment of...this wonderful quaint establishment like our will be dependent on local young peoples social skills.More

Arrived fairly late but the lad behind the bar who was very friendly asked the chef if he would prepare a meal which he did, went for the fish and chips which I have to say was very average, not a particularly big piece of...cod and was quite thin but I have to say was quite tasty, chips were awful, perhaps arriving quite late in the afternoon contributed to this.More

Received a warm welcome for our party of 5, even though we hadn't booked, as just arrived to holiday in the village. Very dog friendly and excellent food. Can thoroughly recommend the Sunday lunch. We also (booked!) and 3 of us ate there again later...in the week and the steak meal two of us had was delicious. My daughter had the homemade lasagne, and she also said that was lovely. 😋 Well done, Red Lion.More
