Have to say what a fantastic pub/restaurant this is, been coming here regularly for many years and have to say thanks to the new manager and his team for making this mothers day so fantastic for not just only my mother but my myself and my family also. The atmosphere inside was buzzing and the food was fantastic and the... More

Went for a meal, which actually not bad at all. Tried to settle the bill however there was some confusion on their part over the offer we had been given and the amount to be taken off the bill. The poor girl couldn't work it out so gave our bill to the landlord who had been sat at the end... More

Ah Yes! You're the couple who tried to bully a member of staff into giving you a deal that you said was offered by a member of staff who had already gone home. Let's just get one fact right. I'm not the landlord, I'm the owner so it wasn't our manager who was getting drunk at the end of the... More

This is not a review of the food and drink on offer as we were asked to leave immediately because we had a dog. This despite the fact that the other members of our family arrived before us with their dog and were told it was ok to bring him in. We finished already bought drinks outside and a member... More

Dear Sue W, we only allow guide dogs and assistance dogs in our pubs. On this one occasion as the pub had just opened and there was an area in the garden room where no one was sitting we allowed a dog in. However another person arrived with two very small yappy dogs and I think they were embarrassed with... More

In the area spending time with my son and his partner celebrating her birthday, when we arrived we found a nice table to the left of the bar. We sat and chatted for a while and choose our meals from Extensive Menu ordering at the bar the lady was very helpful with a big smile and all the staff were... More

We never expect gourmet food from the Smithy. Cheap as chips, you get what you pay for. But this week 2 of our party of 4 were given chicken fajitas that included one completely raw chunk. Other pieces on both plates were raw when sliced open. Although we were given an apology and our meals were recooked or replaced this... More

This small village pub is absolutely fantastic, it can get busy at times but they keep on top of food, the staff are brilliant and friendly. They have recently upgraded there menu and it has some gorgeous food on it and great for vegetarians too Would defiantly recommend and i certainly will be going back there again

My husband and I visited to try the "Middleborough Parmo" as advertised on their Facebook page. We visited on a Monday lunchtime, it was busy, but we managed to find a table straight away. The food arrived quickly, and it was nice and hot. The chicken was nice, the salad and peas seemed to be added just for colour because... More

Description
A warm welcome awaits you at The Old Smithy. If you asked most people to draw their idyllic 'roses round the door' village pub, they would probably draw The Old Smithy at Church Lawford. It really is a very cosy pub and has a great atmosphere. There’s a garden and a patio area for those balmy summer nights and a huge log fire for those cold winter days.
