Stopped at the bakery on our way to the M6 to head home. Two of us had the titanic breakfast muffin and really enjoyed them. Really good portion size, with really good quality ingredients. Coffee was really nice too, and my husband had the posh beans on toast and really enjoyed that. Was a nice way to end a great week.

I had the halloumi cheese with chilli sauce on ciabatta and my husband had the loaded chilli and fries. We were disappointed with the quality of the food for the price- it was pretty average quality and expensive. The cakes and tray bakes looked very tempting but they too are expensive. I don’t feel the place is as good as it used to be.

Mixed feeling about this place.
It was my first ever visit. First of all I’d like to note that the staff there are lovely. But I ordered a coffee and a sandwich to find everything was served in a take away container despite the fact we were eating in. Now the food was tasty, albeit a little small portion wise. You kind of feel hard done by paying £9 for just a small sandwhich that comes out wrapped in tin foil even when you’re sitting in. Not only is it a waste of products, it’s so bad for the environment. Cakes looked good but very expensive for a very small portion so I chose not to get one. Overall, tasty food and drinks but way overpriced for what it is, especially if it’s served without cutlery and comes wrapped in tin foil. Most likely won’t be back in a hurry.

Firstly, this is a favoured spot to grab a coffee when visiting the bike shop across the way, however…visited for breakfast albeit it was a busy time but very quick to take the money and no real service with a smile from the lady on the counter. Asked to sit near the door outside but then found a table inside, the lady knew we had sat down but the breakfasts turned up in takeaway containers and the avocado on toast was very soggy…. The barista knew we had sat down and delivered the drinks in proper cups however the lady said too busy to even transfer breakfast to plates and I had to go and ask for cutlery. Suggest some focus on customers and giving a better experience to people would be worth looking into….wont be rushing back no matter how good the bread is….

Truly awful customer service! We have visited on many occasions before but sadly won't be returning. Ordered a cheese & onion pie which arrived with a soggy bottom & overwhelming taste of mustard. I politely explained to the lady serving and asked if I could possibly exchange it for a sausage roll (I didn't ask for a refund)...she went to ask the manager(who didn't appear!) & came back to relay the message that "the best we can do is offer 20% off a sausage roll" really disappointed with such dreadful customer service. There are much better places in Kendal that I will stick to in future.

We ordered before a crowd of takeaway people all of their food came out before ours as did the food for the table next to us who also ordered after we did. We waited around 45-60 mins for our order to be filled. I was about to get up to complain though as I was a lady was at the counter complaining that she had waited an hour outside for her order. Our order arrived not long after that, my partner asked about the beer we ordered only to be told by the rude waitress ‘I told you to just get it off the shelf!’ Luckily he had a bottle opener on his key ring to open it with! We were given no cutlery or condiments or guidance as to where to find them so had to go hunting for those. The brunch hash I ordered came drowned in so much sriracha as to make it almost inedible. I ordered a ginger Nicky as we were leaving, it looked good though it was extremely bland mostly tasting of sugar with a light hint of ginger. This was one of the worst experiences I have had in a local eatery, the service was almost none existent/rude the food was terrible and we waited ages for it.

after waiting in the queue we finally got the opportunity to order, and the staff were rude from the beginning. the card reader declined my card due to contactless not working and the staff proceeded to find this funny and made me extremely uncomfortable. i ordered my food and asked where i should wait for my food and was asked “what did you order?” baring in mind i had just ordered 30 seconds ago with the same person. i was then told to wait outside. Half an hour passed and me and another customer proceeded to go in and ask where our orders were as customers before us had theirs and were told it would be ready in a few minutes. 15 minutes passed and i still hadn’t received my order. i went in for the second time to ask where it was and was greeted by a rude blonde waitress who told me “you ordered different food to them so you’ll have to wait longer” i finally got my food and disappointment was an understatement. my ciabatta was the size of a coaster and for £7 was extremely underwhelming. and then the “seasoned fries” for £3 were frozen french fries with mayonnaise. i also had the halloumi bites and they were that cold they were hard. i won’t be coming again. it was far too expensive for what it is, the staff were rude and the food was cold. don’t waste your time or money.

Visited today for a simple lunch but what a disappointment. We ordered a sandwich and a soup. The place was relatively quiet at 2pm but we waited ages , no one seemed at all concerned even when we asked where our food was. Eventually tge sandwich was put on the hatch and we noted it waiting to be brought over, so we asked. My soup was eventually brought out after I asked 3 times but it was cold. I returned it and asked fir my money back. Tge problem was that no one seemed to care and no one took any responsibility. We won't be visiting again, there are better options in Kendal.

SUPERB.
>Coffee: they roast their own coffee beans and sell a selection each day that you can choose from! My fav was the Christmas special - liquid Black Forest Gateux. Chris does fab milk art too - thank you :)
>Brekkie: I had the ‘More? fry up’ - homemade bean recipe, homemade hash brown - GORGEOUS and beautiful sourdough made literally upstairs from the cafe!
>Baked goods: Crookie - incredibly buttery and sweet <3
Huge thanks to Nicky & Emily too, fab customer service.
Overall really impressed with the good vibes and customer service, amazing coffee and artisan bakery.
Also side notes: 8am-4pm daily, dogs are allowed and toilets are spacious and clean!

We called in after a local walk for lunch. Sadly by the time we got our food you could be forgiven for thinking it was afternoon tea, rather than lunch! The service was so slow. This isn't specifically Covid related, as I can recall a similar issue at another, pre-lockdown, visit. I can forgive it once, but not twice. On this occasion, my husband, as the person who went in, said there were half a dozen people in the kitchen and he could only see one of them doing any work!
Our order was not time consuming, being two cold sandwiches, two hot chocolates and a cake - nothing that required a lot of cooking or prep. The number of other people outside waiting for their orders showed this was an issue for everyone and not just us.
Such a shame as the food, when it did arrive, was lovely. However we're spoilt for choice around here, so we're unlikely to be rushing back unless service improves markedly.

Ordered a tray bake and a large latte to take out. The tray bake and latte were both advertised at £2.95 each, I was charged £6 at the til but wasn’t going to quibble over 10p.
When the latte came I asked if it were a large as it looked a bit small, the woman told me they’re all the same regular size? I was in a rush and had to go so just went as there was a long queue. They advertise 2 prices for a latte, regular and large, plus they clearly had 2 different size take out cups on top of the coffee machine.
I wish I had said something now as the latte was only just luke warm, but as I was already in the car and the queue was big I cut my losses. The tray bake was tasty, although it was tiny. Certainly not good value for money.
When driving out of the car park I saw a space next to Mr Duffins Coffee shop, got another latte in there and it was much better.

Breakfast here was superb. Both had the full English and it was perfect in every way. Cafe was busy on the sunday morning we visited but after a 10 min wait we were seated (weather not good enough to sit outside where there are more seats. The food was nothing short of excellent.

We are local and regularly visit Staveley to walk along the river, we normal use Wilfs or Hawkeshead Brewery but this time decided to use More. Sadly, the experience wasn't great. A very poor vegan and vegetarian offering. The vegan mushroom pie had sold out however we were offered a cheese and onion pie. We were then informed it was made with lard but some vegetarians consider this as vegetarian! What? No! I then settled on a haloumi sandwich which was really nice, in fact all the food was good. Coffee was brown flavoured water at best but with less taste - really not good for the prices you pay. To sum up, service is really slow (this is taking covid into consideration), unfriendly and quite surly and everything is really quite expensive.

Really disappointed to find your sourdough loaf was such a terrible let down. Please don’t sell bread as sourdough when it clearly is nothing like the real thing (texture and taste). I was sold a white sliced loaf for £2:50 and quickly realised that it had some additive in it amongst other ingredients including sugar and yeast. It tasted beyond disgusting, rolled like cotton wool (exactly like roberts white sliced). It went straight in the bin I’m afraid. I’d advise anyone looking for bread in Staveley to go to the Spar where they usually sell a reasonable granary for half the price.

Visited here on a Monday afternoon for a light lunch.
Poor choice of sandwiches, so we had a hummus, and veggie style wrap each. Lack of filling in both, especially the hummus.
In addition, a tray bake each, and my wife had a small coffee. The bill was over £17 for a takeaway, self service, and eaten outside on a wooden bench.
We appreciate the need to make a profit, but this is asking silly money, and for nothing special.
We are local to the area, but will not be returning as we feel ripped off by this.
Businesses need to remember their customers do have a choice...
