The food is amazing, portions are massive so you may not need a starter. The service is fast and friendly, and the pub has a lovely cosy atmosphere.

The food and service was good with massive portions if you are capable of eating them! I would recommend to book as they were certainly busy, however this was half term.

My partner had prawn baguette which was load with prawns which is always good, only comment is spread the butter as there where lumps of butter. No biggie. Over all nice food nice atmosphere. I didn't find... More

I visited Ulverston this weekend to see her friend who has a flat as he is working there. My other friend and I drove down from Newcastle upon Friday and had a night out in Overstone. The town is very pleasant, surprisingly Andy this bar in particular was very busy with friendly people and had a lovely a fire feature... More

Very much enjoyed an early weekday evening meal whilst visiting the area. Good selection of fish specials. The main courses a little pricey but frankly happy to pay this to get Proper Food away the from "pub grub" so common elsewhere. That said soft drink prices exceptionally reasonable which helped make the whole meal good value. Staff attentive. Only little... More

Dropped in for lunch and the Farmers Arms didn't disappoint. We had the lemon sole which was well cooked (and quite substantial), the chips were excellent and the salads OK. However the house wine was pretty poor (Pinot Grigio), even so it was cheap so maybe I shouldn't be surprised. The coffee was much better. Overall it's better than pub... More

original lunch menu was super value. Four of us ate and were given sizeable portions, 2 had mussels, prawns and langoustines in a white wine sauce with chips and whole meal bread, 1 gammon and an excellent farmers salad with bacon, black pudding and sautéed potatoes. The mussels were a little over cooked and small but tasty nonetheless. The other... More

We had fish and chips. Sizable portions with plenty of side dishes. I substituted salad for the chips (I can only eat 3 or 4 before getting bored with fried potatoes). Friendly wait staff and comfortable ambience.

I love traditional old pubs and The Farmers Arms certainly didn't disappoint. The food was delicious and the staff very friendly. My husband was a little disappointed that the pie was not ready for at least another hour even though it was 6pm hence the 4/5. We will definitely be back to try it next time we are in the... More
