Just finished meal at the farmers arms in ulverston (market place). As ever the food was absolutely great and they really know what great service is. This is the benchmark for all others in the area.

Would have been a five rating ,but as with a lot of hotels now, you have to pay extra for the breakfast, which was quite expensive,£2 for a cup of tea !!.The staff and service were great and the food they serve was superb,i just wish they had put breakfast on the price to begin with.

I was full but husband had raspberry panacotta for pud which he said was delicious. I had to take his word for it as he was not sharing! I had... More

The Farmers sits at the very top of the main street in Ulverston and has a great view. We have only ever had coffee here, but the staff are really nice and friendly. Its great when the weather's nice to sit outside and watch the hustle and bustle of Ulverston's main street.

Delicious food, amazing staff great price. You will not be disappointed. Real ale on tap and the building makes for a great night out either as a couple or as a group. Please do the drive as there is so much alcohol to taste

La'al Pig Day was the name given in the past by the farming community to Market Day. Each Thursday the licensing laws were relaxed so that the farmers could attend the livestock market and then have a pint or two in the town. One such watering hole was the Farmers in the main square. In the 1970's this was run... More

We were passing through at lunchtime and did a quick google of places to eat. The Farmers Arms came up as highly recommended. We dropped in and were immediately impressed with the warm friendly and welcoming interior. An option to eat in the bar area or restaurant was offered. We chose the bar which was cosy , comfortable and a... More
