The Mill is definitely one of the better bar/restaurants in Ulverston. It has a great choice of beers, and a fabulously stocked bar and wine choice. Service is very good and there are always sufficient bar and waiting staff to cover demand The food is...More

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful meal last Thursday, so much that we returned the following evening and ate again. The a La Carte menu offered 2 x Flat iron steaks for £20 and as an extra we were offered a bottle of wine...More

A smart revamp of the old pub, the Mill catered well to a large group of us, although we had to order in advance. The food was interesting, tasty and in good portions, not cheap but value for the price.

I've been here a few times previously and I've not given the place a review. This is because I'm a bit of a fan of the Duke of Edinburgh hotel up the road and I didn't want to be negative. The thing is it wasn't...More

We stopped off at the Mill as it seemed to be one of the only places in Ulverston with a free table on a Saturday night! It was a very nice place, good decor and a good atmosphere. However the service journey was quite confusing...More

I have not been in Ulverston for almost two years. Not too many changes to the town, still very beautiful, dominated by Hoad's Tower and with the multitude of colourfully painted houses. My friends and I walked from the little Ulverston train station into town...More

Although they have tried to put a new spin on the menu it still needs modernising as many of the mains are standard pub options and there are no sharing platters. I am gluten free and this was not easily received, only a couple of...More

Well that's disappointing, and unnecessarily so, as our kitchen actually make all our dishes from scratch, we can tweak most of our meals to be gluten free. The staff know this, but perhaps it wasn't conveyed correctly. With regards to the "standard pub options", what...More

We visited The Mill for Sunday lunch. We were greeted by a friendly waitress who was very attentive - checking details for us if unsure. Ordering from the 2 course meal we had sufficient choice of tasty meals: 2 roast beef with delicious potatoes, kale...More

Been with my partner for a week in the Lakes District and this was meant to be our "treat" evening. Worst decision of this , otherwise, fantastic holiday. Negative impact from the very beginning. Looking grey and dark and smelling of cheap pub. Waited a...More

Well, that was a disappointing read. Seemingly there was not much you did like about your visit. We will, of course, review our service levels as a smile is the very least you can expect as a diner at the Mill. I have to say...More
