Heard lots of good things about this place, rang to check if they had a table which they did. When we arrived the place was very quite, it was mid week however. We ordered and after a 45 min wait our mains arrive, great, but we ordered starters??? By this point we were so hungry we decided to leave the... More

Eaten here many times now, lunch time and in the evening and have never been disappointed. A varied menu including a specials board. Food is always lovely especially the chips. Pricing is very fair, good value for money. Always a lovely atmosphere with happy and helpful staff. Would recommend to any one.

Seven of us booked a table for a family birthday dinner whilst on holiday in Great Urswick (attractive village). The menu has a reasonable choice, i.e. fewer items than the nearby Stagger Inn's extensive list, but more than adequate for most pallets. This was a mid-week evening and we anticipated one or two items might not be on the menu... More

Ate here twice on successive nights. Service variable from attentive and friendly to could care less. Looked good when we pulled in, with its delightful dark traditional bars, but the restaurant is modern looks the car park and is a little soulless. Value for money was poor and quality of food was very average. May have been awarded high recognition... More
