Visited as a 'driving past' tourist when were were looking for somewhere nice to stop for dinner. Nicely furnished Inn with two distinct inside areas the bar & nicely presented more formal restaurant area. They had ample menu choices and food was good however menu options are mainly 'pub food' choices such as lasagne and ham, egg and chips rather... More

Excellent food, prompt good service. - salmon in a superlative hollandaise sauce, with a trio of nicely-cooked vegetables - excellent beef lasagne with a delicious sauce instead of the usual bland cheese sauce, served with ontrasting textures of a salad with a lovely fragrant light dressing and garlic bread - pork belly (with no fat), crispy crackling. All priced £10-12.... More

We visited here as a couple for dinner, on the bank holiday weekend. The location and the place looked nice from the outside and when we first arrived the service from the staff was great and we were seated straight away, the staff were very friendly and very helpful. Where we were seated was extremely busy, with people constantly walking... More

Travelling back from Bakewell we decided to call in for lunch. We are so glad we did. It was early afternoon so we were worried food would not be available but luckily it is served all day. There was a full menu with the usual things fish & chips, pies, steaks etc. and lighter bites which we all decided upon.... More

Had a lovely meal here with my Wife and two children. Prices are what you expect from a local bar in the middle of nowhere. Lovely large grassed area for the kids to run about afterwards, childrens play area could do with a revamp mind you but still useable and safe. Lovely outside dining area although was 30deg so sat... My wife and myself stayed here for 2 nights and found the place to be very nice indeed. The rooms were ok and the staff were all very friendly. Tons of hot water, a nice firm bed and the surrounding area is peaceful.

Thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay here. Nothing too much trouble. Bar staff really friendly. Had a lovely room with a super-king bed, large bathroom with plenty of surfaces for toiletries. All very clean and cared for.

Having not seen anywhere in Ashbourne that took our fancy for breakfast, we stumbled upon the Bentley Brook arriving rather late for breakfast, no one else in there, but we were warmly received by the hospitable staff. Three magnificent full English breakfasts arrived in reasonable time for freshly prepared food along with the best coffee I have had for ages... More
