Called in the restaurant on a visit with friends. Lovely piping hot fish and chips with bread/butter, tea or coffee and served by lovely staff. Reasonable price too. Also, they do "Take away" next door.
Went to George s in Belper at around 2150 staff didn’t seem interested and didn’t know the servers name but the chips were black in Color soggy and Luke warm and the roll was dry

Despite what people tell you this original George’s remains the best chippy around. We are local and normally take away but we are in on this occasion. Fish is fab batter is light and crispy. Best chippy around.
Popped in one night for some sit down fish and chips. The Haddock was absolutely beautiful and the batter light and crispy. Definitely room for improvement on the service but it was friendly enough just very laid back.
