Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

. . . clean, bright establishment. Warm welcome from young staff, including our dog; delicious selection of cakes but we fancied something savoury. I ordered the salad with tuna mayonnaise and cheese, and my husband ordered a sandwich with crisps and salad. Both meals came...quickly and the portions were generous. Fresh and tasty, enjoyed with a coffee.More

I have visited this café many times after I have completed a local walks Ideally situated next to the car park which is only £1 an hour to park. A good choice on the menu reasonably priced, quick service. Excellent coffee, doesn’t get overly busy...during the week, recommended.More

This cafe is Ideally situated for those fortunate enough to secure a space in the car park, and walkers who have arrived by coach. Not an attractive establishment by any means it is unchanged for at least five decades. The service is what would be...described today as entry level. I am not its target customer but the coffee is decent. I wouldn't be poaching any of the staff. However the service is acceptable. Times have changed here in Castleton and its no longer the genteel country village of my youth and now the space that this Café occupies in no longer adequate at certain times, with a huge number of overseas visitors, a huge contingent of dogs and a cacophony of noisy chatter echoes off the hard surfaces.More

Situated at the main car park for Castleton (along with the Visitor Centre and toilets) the cafe is very convenient. The service was ... efficient. The food (we had a selection of cakes) was really lovely. Coffee and milkshakes also excellent.

We’ve been to this cafe a couple of times now, always tying it in with a visit to the ‘visitor centre’ which essentially is a glorified gift shop. The cafe is nice, spacious (not toilets - these are in the outside public toilet block which...I don’t like!). It does have baby changing facilities though. Note the opening hours are 09:30-16:00 which, when you arrive at 15:30 makes getting an order in & eating a tight turnaround! We had cake and also had ordered a bowl of chips - these took a long time and very much tasted like frozen chips just deep fried. Not very tasty. Cake and coffee were lovely though. Service was ok. No free wifi.More

Stopped off here on a walk from Hope along the great ridge. Friendly welcome, good atmosphere and some nice displays of local interest and history. We had some excellent coffee and nice homemade cake, and were served by a very professional young server. The main...meal offer also looked good and very reasonably priced. Would recommend as a stop off for refreshments.More

Stopped off here for lunch after visiting Peak Cavern. Food was reasonably priced and came really quickly, atmosphere was nice and welcoming and the information on the walls was an interesting read while we waited for food. The kids selection was great and as a...bonus they even offer free drinks and ice cream with every kids meal (at time of writing during summer holidays), which went down a treat! Would definitely stop by again when in the area.More

It's a shame that Castleton Visitor Centre have reduced, what was a very good small museum, to little more than a couple of display cases. However, the coffee shop which has filled much of the space where the museum used to be, is at least...a good one, with enough space to accomodate a good number of people. The lady who served me was pleasant and friendly, and had I not recently had breakfast, I would have had something to eat with my coffee. As well as the large interior, there is also outdoor seating. A nice place to have a coffee while you admire the agricultural instruments, which were previously housed in the former museum.More

My Mum and I are local and came for lunch here again today. The food is excellent quality and delicious, the menu has a great selection and a good choice fir gluten free. I wanted to mention in particular Megan and Max as being an...absolute asset to your cafe. Megan went above and beyond to help us when the cafe started to get busy as my Mum is very vulnerable to covid. Thank you again to Megan. All your staff are wonderful. See you in the New Year!!More
