Delicious food, well presented, served fast in comfortable surroundings and a lovely location. All five of us came away full of food and happy.

Brilliant selection of standard and imaginative real ales to keep the hubby happy and Peroni on tap to keep me happy after a long walk plus an array of quality wine. For the gin monsters there's speciality gin, too. Really nice staff to keep us all happy - they couldn't have been more accommodating with a good dose of common... More

We were looking for a dog friendly pub on a very damp and cold February evening and cam across this place. The fire was roaring, the England Wales rugby was on the TV but not loud and overpowering as we had heard in other pubs we walked past. A good selection of draught beers and wines at reasonable prices. We... More

We visit here a few times a year from Doncaster. Wouldn't visit anywhere else after they found my iPod and returned a few years ago! Great food and service as always. Only fault is the pork was a bit dry on the Sunday lunch and the veg didn't come with gravy by I asked for extra and they brought it!... More

We stayed one night in this olde worlde country pub, we had a lovely four poster bed room overlooking the castle ruins on the hill. As we are from Auastralia this was quite unique for us. We had been to the pub before but never stayed and was definitely well worth it. The room was comfortable, with modernised ensuite, very... More

We enjoyed our visit to the aye Old Nags Head. We only went for a quiet drink before returning to our B&B. They served Black Sheep and other beers. The also served a range of Rekordiloch ciders (not sure of spelling). They had a open fire and felt very homely. They served food and had ensuite rooms. If we come... More

Come here for an evening meal on a quiet Sunday night. Nothing was too much trouble and we had a lovely table just off to the side of the bar area. I recommend the Mam Tor meat feast Pizza......loads of delicious toppings on a stone baked base. So big it took time to get through but I enjoyed every mouthful.... More

An afternoon to spare, so my wife Eileen and I dropped in on one of our favourite destinations. The Nags Head do the best burger EVER and according to Eileen, the fish isn't bad either. The scenery, food and staff make this a very enjoyable eatery. Well done guys. We'll be back.

Oh my was I surprised. Character was plenty full in this pub and the staff was great. We booked with ease for 22 blokes. Food quality was very good, portion sizes were generous and the cost was affordable. Lovely open fires and cosy corners. Food service was above normal, easily 10min wait for my roast beef sandwich, same could be... More
