Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Delightful restaurant, run by very friendly, helpful, and attentive staff serving extremely tasty food in lovely surroundings. The excellent wine list is an added bonus. Made the 90-minute journey to meet friends who travelled equally as far more than worthwhile. John and Liz(Doncaster)

An absolute gem of a place. So cosy and inviting. The staff were brilliant and very helpful. But the food … well what can I say … absolutely amazing …!! The starters we had were so tasty and the main courses were just amazing. The...menu has something for everyone, my husband had the Sunday dinner, it was superb, the bone marrow gravy was 👌🏻. Cannot wait to go back and try something different 🫶🏻More

We had a lovely meal at 1530, the service was just right, the food delicious and the wine was great value too. There are some very different meal choices on the menu too, so able to try something new.

The High Peaks have plenty of wonderful pubs and cafes that do very good food, but there are very few restaurants that serve good food and drink in a very romantic setting. The 1530 is Castleton is wonderful. The drinks, the choice and quality of...food, and service was on point. And the best surprise was the cost. Excellent value for money, based on what was ordered. Looking forward to returning for another lovely dinner. Book early to avoid disappointment.More

Six friends ate here after reading Tripadvisor reviews. Everything about the visit was excellent. Lovely ambiance within the restaurant accompanied by excellent service. The menu is fairly extensive and varied. The food was beautifully cooked and presented and all six main meals were rated excellent...by all. Wouldn’t hesitate in recommending this restaurant to friends and family.More

Gorgeous food, the staff are friendly, pleasant & polite. Portions can be large, garlic bread starter is huge but lovely. I had the plaice fillet for main and it was a whole filleted fish. Gorgeous but filling. The tiramasu is also very lovely. Worth booking...in advance to guarantee a table. We loved it so much we ate there twice. Pizzas are good too.More

We have been before so high expectations again as was delicious last time. We started with bread with oils at £4.50 & monkfish piada at £10, then 3 of us had the 8oz rib eye steak at £19.50 which was nice but didn’t feel worth...the cost, lastly sticky toffee date pudding which was the best part of the meal at £7. Staff friendly in this cosy Italian restaurant in lovely Castleton.More

We tried this place having read the reviews, and we loved it; a great experience. Plenty of choice on the menu, good wine list, and we loved the food, really well cooked, high quality ingredients, and the staff were perfect, a good combination of attentiveness...in an informal environment. We plan to go back time and time again and work our way through the menu. I would certainly recommend this place.More

Thought this an absolute gem in Castleton for us. We love Italian food and this cosy little restaurant didn't disappoint. Burrata starter with warm bread and olive oil; and then husband had the fillet of plaice (absolutely beautiful) and I had the beef ragu with...tagliatelle. Everything perfectly cooked with a great range of Italian gins too. Good service and friendly staff, can't wait to return on our next visit to Castleton.More

I had the prawn, crayfish crab linguine in a creamy sauce. It tasted amazing. Partner had slow cooked pulled lamb tagliatelle. Shared a garlic bread with cheese. Sat in a nice table by the window good for people watching. Not the cheapest but worth it...for a treat as the food is excellent and the staff are very friendly. Would go again.More

Fabulous food in a delightful setting. Recommend by a friend we booked (which is essential). For my partner's birthday on a Saturday night and couldn't fault a single thing. Service and food were exceptional and we will definitely recommend it to visitors and friends.

I very much doubt it, as this is a restaurant. The pubs in the village do allow dogs, and also good serve food, but I suggest you get a dog sitter and go to 1530, as the food is extremely good. Woof!
