I had nicely cooked steak with a great blue cheese sauce. The service was very friendly. Pub is in a nice part of town. Excellent value for money too. Recommended.

Arrived for lunch on a very wet day. Made very welcome by various members of staff. My wife chose the Cheese and Onion pie while I had the Sausages, onions, mash and gravy. Both choices well up to standard and we will certainly visit again.

I have recently moved to Glossop and have noticed that during the week (apart from the quiz on a Wednesday) the pub seems to close at 8.30pm or 9.00pm. My parents came to visit this weekend and I decided to take them to the Wheatsheaf last night and couldn't believe that at 9.15pm the pub was closed!! Disappointed that this... More

I have recently moved to Old Glossop and am struggling to work out what the closing times are. Generally because of the quiz on a Wednesday the pub closes at 11 pm otherwise you are looking at 8.30pm. Tonight I invited my parents to my house and we decided to go for a drink at 9.15pm but the pub was... More

A lovely location in Old Glossop. It is a pub, but don't let that put you off. The food is glorious. We had the steak meal deal on Thursday. A glass of red wine, fabulous steak, best I have ever had. Lean, moist and succulent. I had the salad with it, which was delicious. The portions are large, so the... More

My wife and I are visiting Glossop for a few days and stopped by the Wheatsheaf on our first night in town. We've been back every day since! We can't get enough of the great food and friendly atmosphere. We've ordered a different course each time we've visited and haven't been disappointed yet. Len and Ivan are great hosts and... More

Stopped here on way to Lake District from Sheffield. Welcoming to babies and dogs. One of the best burgers we'd had in a long time. Great price and really friendly staff. Thank you!
