Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a little gem of a place. Lovely warm welcome from Jonathon and his staff. Food excellent too. We are staying in Dilly Cottage, literally a stones throw away. Perfect 👌

Wednesday night is pie night with a selection of 4 pies available including a vegetarian option. I had the chicken ham and leek which was delicious - a generous portion cut from a big pie served with excellent chips - my preference other potato options...available together with seasonal vegetables and gravy. Make sure you're hungry, you certainly won't be after! Service was very friendly and efficient, particularly nice chatting with the landlord and waitresses towards the end of their busy service Recommended to book in advance to avoid disappointment, as particularly popular with locals and visitors alike.More

We ate here twice during our stay in Tideswell. Hands down the best pie I have ever had..other options also very good including lamb shank (which was massive) and steak. Really lovely place which is definitely worth a visit when staying in the Peaks.

My family and i have just returned from our weekend stay in tideswell, we stayed in the cottage which is located across the road from the star inn. We could not have asked for a better location having the star inn as the local pub!:)...John and all the staff did an incrediable job at making us feel welcome, all the staff was so friendly and could not do enough for you and we all thought the sunday dinner was absolutly beautiful. We had a fantastic time and would definitely return.More
