Stayed for two nights with a group of friends some in the Pub others in caravans on the field, really enjoyed ourselves and were made most welcome. Meals are wholesome freshly cooked and served with a smile, the camping field is a little sloping, only to be expected, but hook ups are available and the facilities are good. our friends... More

I love this pub. It feels like my local even though it is hundreds of miles from home. Always feels welcoming for my whole family.

We decided to go out last minute for Easter Sunday lunch and had already been turned away from 2 pubs due to them being fully booked we passed the Miners standard and decided to give it a 3rd place lucky attempt. We had a party of 10 and upon entry the pub looked full, however the lady behind the bar... More

We stayed at the Miners Standard last weekend in our Motorhome, great location for walking, lovely village. The pub is very friendly, food was excellent and bustling with local people. Would certainly recommend this pub.

After our local dropped off the edge of a cliff with its food offering, we have been searching for a new regular spot for a family tea. We first tried the Miners Standard after a recommendation from a family member a few weeks back and booked a table to give it a try. We were really pleased we had. A... More

We stumbled on this pub mid-way through our walk. We decided to try it for lunch, so glad we did. The Battered Cod & Chips was scrumptious. The fish portion was huge, after a morning spent walking it was most welcome. Bar staff warm and welcoming.

When staying in lovely Winster we enjoy both the local pubs and The Miners Standard always offers a warm welcome. It's cosy in winter with log burners, beams and traditional seating. Good reasonably priced drinks. Food is fairly standard fayre, generous portions. We always end up chatting to people and it makes for a lively sociable evening. Camping and b&b... More

When I stayed at the campsite on a family camping trip I thought that the staff were welcoming and polite. The owners were thee nicest people I have ever meet, and the food was absolutely divine.

Was really made to feel welcome the food was excellent and the service second to none. The good looking, young, chap behind the bar (Think his name was Ian) was really great and made our day

A little rough and ready but we had the most amazing home made game pie with home made chips! Service was great, really friendly and kept us informed as a little delay, we didn't mind as we were enjoying our drinks!
