Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Myself and my partner couldn’t recommend this beautiful spot enough! We originally planned to stay for one night here in our van but Louise and Wes made us feel so at home and the whole atmosphere of the place was so lovely we decided to...stay for a second nignt! Notning was too much trouble for any of them that worked here, all very friendly and down to earth people. Louise even dropped us into the town and gave us a mini guided tour of the local area which we were so grateful for as it saved us a taxi ride! The campsite is very welcoming, warm showers, good food and all round a beautiful spot to stay at! Elvis was also on one night we were there too which we loved! We will definitely be here again and can’t thank them all enough for making our weekend so welcoming ! XxMore

Both food and drink and atmosphere was pleasant in this pub. We tried the steak and ale pie, their burger and the mash and bangers. Everything was good and copious. The selection of soft drinks is not enormous but, hey, it's a pub. You find...the basics, though. Walking distance from the center of the village and to the main walks around.More

We had dropped in for lunch earlier in the week ( on holiday nearby) and after the great food and service we decided to book it for a family dinner, 8 of us ranging from 3 yrs to 77yrs old. We picked a range of...food including gluten free, all well cooked, large portions and really tasty local food. Especially recommend the chips. Friendly service in a traditional pub with a good local following. No hesitation in recommending this pub.More

We are staying in the area and chose this pub as it listed it had vegan options on trip advisor and on the menu it states to ask as vegan options are available. So I called to ask before we visited to find all that...they could offer was………… jacket potatoes. Terrible offeringsMore

We had dinner at the Miners Standard last week as part of a team meeting, we reordered 12 meals and the food was on the table within 15 minutes of sitting down, pipping hot and delicious. We couldn't fault the service of all staff members...in the pub and would highly recommend for a lovely traditional pub lunch or dinner.More

We stayed in a tent with our dog. Certainly the pub and field is very dog friendly. Suggest you call them to ask about rooms.

You don’t need to book a table but it can get quite busy in the evening. I don’t know if they do takeaways but I doubt it.
