Lovely pub with great food and friendly staff. The pub is dog friendly with a lively atmosphere and good beer.
Myself and my partner couldn’t recommend this beautiful spot enough! We originally planned to stay for one night here in our van but Louise and Wes made us feel so at home and the whole atmosphere of the place was so lovely we decided to...stay for a second nignt! Notning was too much trouble for any of them that worked here, all very friendly and down to earth people. Louise even dropped us into the town and gave us a mini guided tour of the local area which we were so grateful for as it saved us a taxi ride! The campsite is very welcoming, warm showers, good food and all round a beautiful spot to stay at! Elvis was also on one night we were there too which we loved! We will definitely be here again and can’t thank them all enough for making our weekend so welcoming ! XxMore
An amazing pub with fantastic food, very welcoming and friendly staff, we always have a brilliant time when we go either as a family or as a couple, we camped on the field with showers, toilets, and drinking water very close by and some fantastic...walks and viewsMore
Both food and drink and atmosphere was pleasant in this pub. We tried the steak and ale pie, their burger and the mash and bangers. Everything was good and copious. The selection of soft drinks is not enormous but, hey, it's a pub. You find...the basics, though. Walking distance from the center of the village and to the main walks around.More
Another fabulous meal- we visit every year when on holiday. Always friendly staff, Great menu and superb food- but book a table if you can as the are sooo busy ( testament to the brilliant establishment!)
We had dropped in for lunch earlier in the week ( on holiday nearby) and after the great food and service we decided to book it for a family dinner, 8 of us ranging from 3 yrs to 77yrs old. We picked a range of...food including gluten free, all well cooked, large portions and really tasty local food. Especially recommend the chips. Friendly service in a traditional pub with a good local following. No hesitation in recommending this pub.More
Lovely pub and campsite dog friendly lovely staff and meals highly recommend in the middle of a nice little village
Visiting from Oregon, USA -- this place was adorable! Food was delicious and a great tap selection. Great spot for lunch after a walk on the Stanton Moor.
We are staying in the area and chose this pub as it listed it had vegan options on trip advisor and on the menu it states to ask as vegan options are available. So I called to ask before we visited to find all that...they could offer was………… jacket potatoes. Terrible offeringsMore
We had a 'taster menu' prepared by their 2 new Chefs and it was excellent The all the dishes were well presented and tasted great Well done 👍✅✅✅✅✅
Stayed for a wedding nearby , surprised to find out they don’t do breakfast!! also no WiFi and 1970s room, wouldn’t stay again .
We had dinner at the Miners Standard last week as part of a team meeting, we reordered 12 meals and the food was on the table within 15 minutes of sitting down, pipping hot and delicious. We couldn't fault the service of all staff members...in the pub and would highly recommend for a lovely traditional pub lunch or dinner.More
We were rather wet when we arrived but that was not a problem. Lovely, friendly staff. Nice lunch. Well worth a visit.
