Visited here for lunch. A busy traditional country pub. Staff friendly. I asked if the chips were homemade, the response was yes, but unfortunately they were frozen chips. We had baguettes and one was soggy and had to be returned. Disappointing really.......

Group meal. Sadly most of us felt the meals were poorly seasoned and had little real taste. Normally not a fussy bunch but we all left with the feeling they had simply microwaved their frozen "homemade" menu. Friendly enough but the food some love!

The Miners Standard won't blow you away when you arrive. Nothing about the exterior or interior stands out, but the lovely bar staff and clear care with their food will. The barman we had in particular was very northern, but also very warm and kind....More
