Small cafe with nice selection of breakfast, brunch, lunch items and speciality teas. The rarebit was especially good, as were the fish finger sandwiches. Service was quick and the staff were attentive and pleasant. We will go again when we are next in the town.

Lovely quaint tearooms in the middle of Thirsk, very close to market square. Great choice of food and a specials board. We only needed a snack so had both cheese and fruit scones (not each, as too big) they were delicious. Staff very friendly. Downstairs...was a deli and health food shop.More

Looking for a lunch stop as the rain started in Thirsk! What a find! Great menu (different) in an old fashioned setting, well presented with Yorkshire portions, which shouldn't distract from the quality. Welsh rarebit with bacon and fried egg. Heaven.

Took an impromptu visit to Thirsk today and came across this cafe. Had the most delicious jacket potato ever!! My husbands quiche was also excellent and both plates came with a large and tasty salad. Tea came in a large teapot with proper tea leaves...and strainer… would definitely return if we come back to Thirsk and recommend to anyone reading this reviewMore

Had a lovely meal brunch/lunch with my husband. I had a jacket potato and he had the veggie breakfast. The food was excellent, large portions, delicious and good value. We are both vegetarian and I am gluten intolerant and there were plenty of options for...us both but also lots of traditional choices too. Friendly and efficient service. There is a very good deli downstairs too.More

this was a nice surprise, just on the edge of market square, we were shown to our table, service was friendly and speedy, tea/coffee was delicious and the cake was, well, better than Bettys.

I think we must have caught them on a bad day - admittedly just after the lunchtime rush. A surly man showed us to our seats. Despite three staff on and not many people in there was a long wait to be served - a...long wait for our tea and coffee once we had been served - and a long wait after our drinks arrived for the cakes (I had to ask the man for them and he didn't apologise for the wait but just said 'two minutes') - presumably someone had to get them from the deli downstairs. Dairy free cake (we checked with the waitress it was dairy free) came with a helping of real cream. Disappointing. Not like the other reviews. Will be trying one of the many other coffee houses in Thirsk next time.More

Despite living nearby for several years, this was the first time we have tried this tearoom having discovered the deli before Christmas. It will not be the last time as we were so impressed with the service, food and atmosphere. The breakfast rolls were packed...with sausages and bacon of a very good quality and the price very reasonable. The deli offers all sorts of goodies too!More

We were recommended this tearoom whilst at the 'world of James Herriot' What a lovely tearooms. We only popped in for a hot drink on a rainy day but as we reached the top of the stairs I spied the lovely scones. We both had...a scone, jam and cream. The scone was lovely and fresh and we were pleased to have called in. Given more time I would had loved to had looked around the deli but unfortunately we had to get back to our coach.More
