"St Valentines Meal"
Visited for the first time for a special occasion (St Valentines), based on good reviews.
We were not disappointed. Although we arrived VERY early, parking was still a bit tricky but we managed to find a space on a side road as there's no on site parking.
Inside it is clean and modern. Our orders were taken and when the food arrived it was of a good standard. The menu is quite extensive so you won't be stuck for choice. We did book well in advance and unsuprisingly the place was almost full by mid-evening. Other than that both the service was ok and the prices fair.
I do find that with these restaurants doubling up as takeways though, it does detract slightly from the service (the front of house is constantly taking orders over the phone and unable to greet guests properly) and it does add slightly to the waiting times for food as the chefs are also dealing with takeaway orders, especially at weekends.
Having said that it still deserves a 4 from me and overall a good experience.

This is the first time I have been to an Indian Restaurant. I have only eaten Indian food a handful of times so was a little skeptical and unsure what I liked and didn’t like, the Staff were more than happy enough to help me with suggestions about what would probably be a good dish for me.
All of the staff were really helpful, the service was good and the food was lovely. I would 100% come back and recommend to anybody.

I personally am not a big fan of 'curry'.
Several weeks ago we paid a Sunday evening visit to Khandan, I only went because we were having dinner with my Husband's daughter and her partner and I didn't want to appear anti social. I was really impressed with the restaurant; spotlessly clean, bright and airy. The service was exceptional and the food, even for a non curry lover like me, was super tasty and great value for money.
Tonight was our SECOND takeaway order, for an alleged non curry lover like myself, I think that speaks for itself. Super speedy delivery, piping hot, really, really tasty food and fantastic value, again. The Husband, my Dad and our dog (for the scraps) were all suitably impressed as well.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Khandan and would definitely order again.

We booked a table here as they’re one of the only Indian restaurants to offer Vegan options on the menu. Our table was at 19.30 and we had to ask for them to take our order as waiters were walking past us when we were clearly ready to order our food. We only had a main course but we were there over two hours. We weren’t told on arrival that there were any issues with the food coming out slow but realised tables around us started complaining they’d been waiting for ages for their meal.
It did take a very long time for our meals to arrive but the food was nice. They didn’t ask if the food was ok whilst we were eating and didn’t offer us dessert either. We didn’t get slices of orange or hot towels like other tables, so there were inconsistencies with the service. They also said they’d applied a discount to our bill but they hadn’t at all. They did apologise on the way out for the slow service though. Quite surprising that they didn’t have any vegan naan breads on the menu as it’s really easy to make them vegan. There was also only
One vegan starter (mushroom purée) but about four options for main vegan meals.

Have had takeaways from Khandan many times but this was the first since lockdown eased. Always used to get free onion bhajis and bombay aloo with every order but not this time, despite spending more than usual.
Fancied a change so tried the peri peri fire but unfortunately it didn't have much flavour or heat. It was described as a chicken dish but also contained what appeared to be tikka lamb which didn't go at all.
Hopefully this was just a blip due to recent events, so will give them another chance to get back to their usual standard.

This really is one of the best Indian restaurants I have eaten at. The currys are great and they are so helpful if you need anything adjusting but the starters are the real star of the show here too. Great service and defo our new go to.

We had our very first take away from here last night after reading reviews and friends recommendations. I really don’t know why we haven’t used them before because the food really lives up to the good reviews. The food arrived nice and hot, portion sizes were good and the food was delicious. Nice big chunks of soft melt in the mouth lamb and chicken and huge succulent king prawns. I can’t wait to finish what was left for lunch today and we now have a new favourite Indian take away.

My boyfriend and I, Tom, enjoy eating here on a regular basis. The staff are always inviting and the food is superb with an excellent choice. The owners are always chatty and make you feel at home. We regularly order a takeaway and often eat in- every experience we have is enjoyable. Keep up the good work.

This was the first & last time we will use Khandan Indian Restaurant takeaway. The pick up time stated 20 minutes, we arrived on time as we live less than 2 miles away, we were made to wait 10 more minutes. Got into a nice warm car with the takeaway packaged food, back home & plating up within 5 minutes. Both curries, rice & nan were luke warm at best and had to be reheated in microwave. The samosas were anaemic and the onion bhaji were more gram flour than onion and again a pale yellow undercooked colour. The nan had obviously been sitting around in it's packaging for a while because it was very wet and again luke warm. Then there was no sauce with the curry - the containers were absolutely stuffed full of chicken but where was the sauce? Also I felt the taste was quite bland for a Rogan, I expect a little bit of spice! We'll go back to the Four Pillars now, a few miles further but a far superior experience.

We’ve been having takeaway meals from Khandan for a while now but have never chosen to eat at the restaurant. Well we did and it was absolutely fantastic. So tasty, fresh, piping hot and one of the best we’ve had (the other being Nawab Lounge, St Neots). The restaurant was busy and during a visit to use the loo it was great to see how busy they were with takeaways too. Absolutely must try if you haven’t, whether takeaway or dining in.
The only two things I’d say is not much of a welcome when we originally walked in and the waiters all seemed to be a bit manic with multiple covering different tables and confusing orders ( thankfully not ours).

We live in nearby Rushden and chose to try this restaurant because the Indian restaurants in town were not yet open for dining in. Well how lucky were we, this place is a real gem.
From the moment we walked in all members of staff were friendly, cheerful and professional. The bar area is clean welcoming and comfortable, the dining area well laid out and stylish and everywhere including the toilet absolutely immaculate.
The all important food is perfectly presented and we enjoyed the full range, starters, mains, sides, bread and rice all of which were fantastic.
If there is a better Indian restaurant than this in a thirty mile radius, I doubt it.
Fantastic, excellent experience will be returning very soon.

My husband & I took our 2 sons based on the great reviews we had read & Khandan did not disappoint. Food was superior to many other Indian restaurants we have been to. Staff were tentative & all look incredibly smart. The restaurant was immaculate & so was the food! We will most definitely return & highly recommend.
Thankyou for a lovely experience.

After them being my go to place for a takeaway for a while we celebrated our newly gained freedoms to have a meal inside a restaurant with a short trip to Khandan. The restaurant is very nicely decorated and the seats were comfortable. The service was attentive, polite and the food.... well, the food tasted even better than I remembered. There are plenty of 5 stars reviews and it is not a coincidence. Definitely the best Indian food in the area. If you think about eating out and you are undecided or just visiting the area Khandan is definitely the place to go. Highly recommended!

We tried to order recently as was recommended but they had closed for a while. Ordered a takeaway this evening as we’ve done our village curry house to death. Needed something new. The dishes were good portions and the chicken was so tender. I had a chilli masala as I like hot dishes, my partner had jalfrezi both had layers of flavour. The rice popadums and naan were all very light not at all stodgy which made it more enjoyable and less filling. Definitely would recommend and will be ordering again. To add lovely pleasant phone service and courteous on time delivery . So glad we tried this place and hope to eat in when they are open again.
