I pop into this cake shop when in Hahndorf to get bread and a sneaky strudel vegetarian pasty and sometime their incredible chicken pie. While i'm there i'll alway pick up a loaf of their beautifully made bread. There is so much awesomeness to choose from and it wasn't for my vanity and waistline i'd buy the shop out.

Obviously this bakery & cafe has a German orientation, & the food we tasted was very good. The service counter is small and the variety is limited. Poppy seed strudel was alright.

Had goulash soup with bread Very nice and spicey. It was during a blackout but owner very helpful. Service was slow as staff working under duress.

We went for lunch. The food was good, the staff very friendly and the atmosphere quirky. Lots of interesting antique and retro clocks & curios on display and sale. Could do with a lick of paint, but we spent a couple of hours catching up with an old friend so we could have been in the middle of a garbage... More

This is the last time I would ever go to this place. I went against my better judgement with family. The coffee is tasteless and microwaving a cherry streudel is sacrilige. Could not eat it. I dont like seeing yesterdays cakes being sold half price. The decor is unbelievable. Nothing has been cleaned for ages. The door into the toilets... More

Hahndorf is expensive as it is geared for tourists. But this is no excuse. I only wanted a good memory of a nice German Bratwurst sausage, but came away very disappointed. We ordered it with salad and it came with sauerkraut instead, which was the alternative. Also with a local supermarket roll and a a standard butter sachet. There didn't... More

Interesting little coffee and cake shop with lots of interesting clocks and things hanging on the walls. Seating inside and out. Lots of interesting cakes on offer.

I'm afraid I can't recommend this cafe. Have had far better plum strudel at numerous German cake shops in Australia and overseas. My husband did enjoy his apple strudel. The coffee was mediocre and the place is shabby. Would not recommend or return.

Great coffee and Cakes but it's the prices that keep you slim, good atmosphere in the garden or inside. Will visit again. The strudel is worth investing for and so us the Bee-sting.
