Excellent restaurant in the heart of German Village in Columbus. The brat buffet is the best I've seen (actually, it's the only one I've ever seen).

I've been to Schmidt's several times in the past but it's probably been at least five years since my last visit. I happened to be in Columbus and decided I needed to revisit. Wasn't disappointed. Had the buffet so I could sample their many tasty sausage options. For $15 a real deal as you will definitely not leave hungry. Any... More

Brought my friend here to sample traditional German food, and not disappointed. Did lunch buffet and sampled several different types of sausage, which were very good. Sides were also good and tried a piece of pie for dessert. Worth the trip if your in Columbus.

Ok, I like German things. So I love this place. The food is authentic and they serve multiple German options. The crème puffs are famous, for a reason, they're huge and delish. (Try the Buckeye Crème Puff) Give yourself some extra time as it's normal that there is a wait, again, for a reason. Lastly, I would recommend going during... More

We went on a Wednesday around 3pm.it was perfect. Restaurant had customers in it but not super busy. We ordered the buffet and ever single item was unique and delicious! We saved room for dessert because when we walked in we saw their amazing pastries. We ordered the chocolate puff pastrie and it was out of this world. I'd definitely... More

It's a good place to go, that's why everyone goes there but it's because of this that it is hard to go here without a long wait. The service is not usually good because they are soo swamped. Lunch time is the best to go and during the week.

We drove @ 2 hours to get to Schmidt's for my birthday dinner today. The place was packed! Lots of fun and activity. The customers and the wait staff were all in good moods--which added to the enjoyment of this restaurant. Our server was friendly and attentive--even though she was very busy. I told her it was my birthday, and... More

Well you go there for the sausages and sour kraut. I love the buffet it's simple but good. They have a sample of their sausage and meat loaf. The green beans German potato salad and red cabbage is great. You can get good beer and the half pound eclair. Great food live German band equals great time. They take requests.

Description
This iconic German Village restaurant is the perfect place to celebrate with family and friends. For five generations we have been serving authentic German food. Our sausage has become so famous that the Bahama Mama has been voted the official food of Columbus and the building is registered as a historic landmark. Come take a trip around our Autobahn Buffet or, if you want something other than sausage, try one of our traditional German dinners. Of course, for dessert, you can have one of our half-pound jumbo cream puffs. Stop in today and celebrate with us!
