Great place to get an authentic pub meal with real fishing village ambiance and history. Choice and service is excellent with interesting local items and extremely fresh fish - usually caught the same day. Free Internet Wi-Fi is a bonus if you are staying somewhere without.

It was a very cold day for a walk and we should have booked a table at the Ferry boat so had to go for a walk to wait for a table. This did help building an apatite so we decided to go for starter and we had 2 portions of calamari between 3 of us. The portions were big... More

Some free parking outside the front, works out of season. Service efficient and pleasant. Varied menu with daily specials using locally sourced ingredients. Good range of Ales etc. We had the half portion of cod, chips and peas - £7-50 each, plenty enough for a lunch but feeling a little expensive.

This pub has a lovely restaurant area and serves really freshly caught local fish. The smoked prawn starter was delicious, homemade butternut squash soup and for mains we had their cod. Great idea to have cod for the smaller appetite on the menu because then you have room for starter and pudding - Creme brûlée was yummy. Very informal and... More

We have eaten here a few times and it is rare to find such beautifully cooked mackerel! The fish is fresh, menu interesting and varied, service very good. Staff are happy to adapt dishes (e.g. new potatoes instead of chips, grilled fish not fried) and a good selection of real ales. OAP offer is very popular!!

Had lunch here - not too much parking but being out of season it was fine. Lovely setting and cozy fire. Nice varied menu but make sure you check out the specials boards near the bar - these could really do with being written down too. Only issue was the loo's the hand drier had a piece of paper stuck... More

Have not been for a while, but we were not disappointed, fish & chips for my husband, the fish cakes with new pots for me - both excellent as always. Great that you can have half a dessert, makes you feel less guilty. Definitely an all year round destination.

The Ferry is a proper Suffolk pub which has retained much of its traditional character. The pub itself has remained unchanged but has a newer annex out the back to accommodate diners when busy (I would recommend booking if you intend to eat at busy periods). The pub is a warm and welcoming place to visit for a few pints... More

Lovely meal with friendly attentive staff. I had calamari for a starter and ' three little pigs for my main course. My girlfriend had deep fried brie and sea bream with mussels wow she struggled to finish it, it was so good but big. There is a very nice looking choice of desserts but we were to full. I enjoyed...
