Small shop premises selling coffee, sandwiches, homemade cakes & home cooked meals. Even though we close at 17:45hrs we serve takeaway meals until 22:00hrs or sometimes, by prior arrangements you can dine in of a evening. We also cater for events.

Ninedeli is a true hidden gem in Southwold, tucked away from the Main Street, the busy promenade and the beach and yet very easily accessible from anywhere.
Serving absolutely delicious, reasonably priced food and excellent coffee, tea or soft drinks to take away, this little deli is a real find.
The owners are charming, ready to meet any specific requests and unfailingly cheerful and friendly, the premises are spotless and welcoming.
We were delighted to discover Ninedeli and will certainly use it again wherever we are in the lovely seaside town of Southwold.

Nine-deli opened in August 2020 and is located in Pinkney’s lane close to Southwold town centre. If you like fresh tasty sandwiches with fantastic fillings (and sensible prices) to take down to the beach, this is the place for you! Our tuna sandwich was packed with flavour and our brie and grape sandwich was just delicious. The coffee is also good to sip on the chairs outside in the sunshine or to take away. And they have a nice selection of gifts to look at too – all unique to the store. The owner and his wife could not be more welcoming and pleasant. I felt a really personal welcome when I visited and am so pleased he is once again back in business offering such good food and independent service in the town.

Nothing is ever too much for Ninedeli. As they say on their menu, if you don’t see something on the menu, just ask and they’ll try their hardest to cater for you. Very friendly couple that runs the deli and makes you feel welcome. It’s like going round a friend’s for lunch. Brilliant prices as well, and much better quality than a standard meal deal from a supermarket.

Found this fabulous little deli down Pinkneys Lane on a scorcher of a day. The owner was super friendly and made all our food fresh. He adjusted the delicious salads to be gluten/grain free for us and dressing free for the kids and they loved it. Such a find and would definitely recommend.

Coffee, Food, and Service all 10/10
Excellent all round
A day out in Southwold on a sunny November day
Coffee & polenta cake on arrival
Homemade Quiche with a choice of veg or salad for lunch
Then back to collect our homemade curry for later that evening back home in Essex
All delicious.
The coffee blends are wonderful and the owners James & Lisa will post them out to you too either beans or ground.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND

When it’s bitterly cold in Southwold your sure of a warm greeting and chat from James who served us a fantastic coffee takeaway. As we were going for a hike, we also ordered sandwiches which were very tasty. An added bonus for us when we stopped for lunch after 10 miles was the kind thought James had shown by popping in some much needed energy boosting flapjack . Scrumptious.

Ninedeli is only small with only one sometimes two people cooking and serving. All the food is cooked fresh to order allowing for special dietary needs which is great as so many especially small establishments have ready meals just to heat up. Great care is taken over the food quality which with limited space I would recommend calling ahead to book or just dropping in to talk to the owner about your requirements.
With our first visit on our request he cooked gluten free scones from scratch which we had sat outside in the sunshine with a coffee, this was his first attempt at g/f scones and they were perfect especially as they were fresh out the oven when we arrived.
Our second visit was just as he was closing the doors! He was happy to make us sandwiches to take away which we really appreciated, they were also delicious full of flavour and plenty of ingredients, well worth the money.

Sometimes gluten-free doesn’t go well at a first attempt.
We cater for gluten-free customers by request and will attempt most things if we have the time & ingredients.

We have just spent the weekend in Southwold which, despite the mizzly weather, was fairly busy and we were struggling to find somewhere for a light lunch. My sister-in-law spotted the brightly coloured bistro tables and chairs outside Nine Deli and we thought we would just grab a coffee. We were very pleasantly surprised though to find a great lunch menu and had some delicious sandwiches and bagettes all served by a charming owner. We are hoping to return to Southwold for a few days either during the summer (although I think most accommodation is probably booked) or in the autumn and will definitely revisit this lovely cafe and also try their extensive takeaway menu.

A lockdown delight; ninedeli has recently opened and is serving takeaway locally roasted coffee and homemade cake. Just was is needed after a morning's walk along the Southwold beachfront.
Now looking forward post-lockdown when I can try more of their offerings.

James delivered 24 packed lunches today for staff working on a Saturday because of the pandemic. Everything was Covid secure, tasty and delivered on time. I would not hesitate to use Ninedeli again, especially as he catered for all diets and was very friendly and helpful.

This small deli served up some delicious coffee- for husband and I had a very good hot chocolate with oat milk. We both had the large slices of tiffin which were packed with chocolate and cherries, the best we had tasted! Luckily we had been on our walk first!
We found out the owners were providing lunches for the staff working on a Saturday to carry out the COVID vaccinations in the local health centre in Southworld.
If you're going to grab a coffee while you exercise or probably best at the end of your walk, why not go to Ninedeli and support a business which is supporting the local community!

From recommendations in our self catering cottage we ventured round the corner to get croissants and coffee for breakfast and sandwiches for our walk to Wlaberswick. Both were good, but what was even better was we found out Ninedeli also cooked meals to take away. With COVID restrictions still in place, and having done the obligatory fish and chips and Indian we wanted a roast for Sunday- obviously. It was simply arranged, phoning the day before with our order, meaning we collected two hot roast chicken meals for Sunday evening. How smug we felt walking past the very long fish and chip shop queues. Thanks Ninedeli!

I stopped here a few times, always felt like they try look after you, they do it with me. My little one is a bit fuss about food, they always managed to do some food to please her. I work regularly in the area, and sometimes I get lunch from here, portions are always generous, which is more than welcome to me, plus, they're always happy to grant any plausible request. Good life to you guys ❤️

During a recent stay in Southwold, I visited Nine Deli after a recommendation by my Mum who visited earlier this year and said I absolutely must go! I’m so pleased I did. The food is absolutely delicious, all homemade on-site and the owner, James, was so friendly and generous with loading up the wonderful salad I ordered for lunch and fresh egg Mayo sandwich for my daughter. I returned the same day to order their Thai green curry as a takeaway supper (piping hot and fresh off the stove!). Outstanding food. Really wish them the best of luck with their new business, and can’t recommend highly enough. Many thanks to Nine Deli.
