Can't go to the seaside and not eat the fish! First-rate fish 'n' Chips - not at all greasy - just right! Of course, consumed along with the by now customary pint of Adnams bitter. whilst I would describe it as a bit of a quirky and functional enviironment, it nevertheless delivers good quality food, and I feel is well... Went here for a birthday treat and wasn't disappointed. Really nice food, the prawn and crayfish starter and the Suffolk Smokies were delicious, as was the fish pie. A unique place which is obviously buzzing in the summer months. A bonus was the unexpected visit by the musicians who sang folk music - I loved it and will definitely go... More

We visited after seeing the menu online. First impressions were very pretty good. The pub was welcoming and traditional. All was going well until we looked at the menu and noticed that it did not match the one on the website. This would have. Ren ok except one of our party had dietary restrictions which meant there was nothing suitable... More

We visited The Harbour Inn today for lunch and well worth the trip . Myself I had the chicken schnitzel with dauphinoise potatoes, apple chutney and green beans . My husband Adams steak pie ,mash and seasonal vegetables, neither of us could fault them and well worth the wait. Situated so you are looking over the river Blythe what could... More

I was back in Southwold two weeks ago for a break at the start of January. A late Christmas treat. I had the Smoked Haddock and my partner had the Cod... chips & mushy peas of course and a pint of Jack Brand Dry Hopped and a pint of Spindrift. Once again... the best fish and chips I've ever had.... More

We visited on the Saturday after New Year for lunch. First point, it was a wintry day, but the woodburner in the top bar had not been lit - why not? The room would have been so much cosier. And I'm afraid the food was overpriced and really not worth eating. My Thai-style fish cakes had been over cooked, presumably... More

Tried to get in the Fish restaurant Xmas Eve but it was full. Had a dink hear before so thought we would give it a try. Had the fish pie which was not very inspiring, it was ok but only average. There are some interesting small dishes on the menu and it is a nice place with outdoor seating so... More

Fish & chips are cooked to perfection and the other items on the menu are delicious. Never had a disappointing meal! What stands out for me though is the charm of this traditional pub and the wonderfully friendly staff who always look after my daughter with her allergies. Tip- Try and eat in the bar area with the welcoming fire... More

We walked here from our rented cottage in the centre of Southwold which took us only 20 minutes. We got there around 13:30 on a Saturday and somehow managed to get a table by the fire on the ground floor. They don’t take bookings but we have always managed to find a table when we have visited before. In our... More

We made a return visit after a two year absence for dinner. The food remains lovely and Adnam's beer never fails to satisfy. The staff were friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed eating in front of the roaring fire and chatting to the locals.
