We had been staying for 10 days in the area, and The Bell was within walking distance of the cottage we were renting. We tried this pub at lunch time, and were impressed with the menu and also the "specials" board. I chose the Sea...More

Full of "olde worlde" charm ! Gorgeous 14th century inn - with wobbly worn flagged floors, cosy rooms. Great fresh food with excellent portions. Friendly staff & great beers.

The lunch service here has become an absolute joke. We've been coming here for a number of years and it seems to have really gone downhill since our last visit. Wait for lunch today an hour - the excuse: 'we have run out of plates'.

Description
A charming coastal pub with rooms overlooking the sea, serving home cooked and locally sourced food, fine Adnams ales, wines and whiskies. Situated in the heart of the picturesque seaside village of Walberswick and just a stones throw away from the rolling dunes and Harbour, stands The Bell Inn. A 600 year old pub steeped in history surrounded by an area of outstanding natural beauty, big blue skies and refreshing sea air. The coastline is a magical area to explore with amazing panoramic views across commons, marshes and beaches. A particularly popular destination for people who enjoy walking, cycling and bird watching. The Bell offers no shortage of Suffolk character with quirky snugs, beamed ceilings, hidden alcoves and worn flagstone floors. Well known for our friendly and welcoming atmosphere, The Bell is a perfect all year round destination. During colder months enjoy roaring open fires and hearty home cooked meals. In the summer months enjoy al fresco dining in our popular, family friendly garden which over-looks the beach of Walberswick and out to sea. Well behaved dogs are welcome throughout the pub.
