Love this place, great choice of food, from homemade soups, sandwiches to omelettes to more. 4 of us ate here and the food was really tasty, freshly prepared, portion size was good. They cater for different allergies. Lovely cakes and huge scones. Staff were friendly...More

We stopped for lunch before visiting the English Heritage site and were quite pleased. The building is ancient with exposed ancient woodwork to wonder at while eating. The kitchen is upstairs and the servers were adept at bringing the sandwiches down on trays with no...More

Tiny and ancient, this tearoom, tight across from the entrance to Battle Abbey, serves a perfect ploughman’s lunch. Delicious ham, cheese, chutney, and greens. The low, beamed ceiling creates a cozy atmosphere and the pleasant staff is welcoming and helpful.

The food is always good here. Basic sort of menu but really well made and presented. For a typical British cafe experience this is exactly the sort of place to head to! The staff are patient and friendly. Good selection of teas and a decent...More
