Been coming here for 14 years and it's still a treat. As a local, I regard Java as an asset to the village and it really does boast the best coffee, ice cream and pizza in these parts. Today, I had a bacon, halloumi and...avocado sandwich and it was amazing! Generous filling plus a fresh salad. Really delicious. And it's great to see that this restaurant trains and employs local young people. Many local folk continue to support Java as it's an integral part of our community so it's a good place to meet up with local friends.More

Poor and rude service. I ordered a take away latte and was presented with an iced latte when I explained that it wasn't what I had ordered the young lady behind the counter argued with me that it was and begrudgingly made the correct order,...what a negative way to start the day. Unfortunately not the first time, we have ordered a takeaway pizza only to get home and find a completely different pizza to the one we ordered in the box. Staff seem to not be bothered about customer satisfaction at all. Another day I ordered a takeaway coffee and after 10 minutes of waiting the same member of staff who had taken my order asked if I wanted to order something?? Disappointing as the food is good and even more so as it is on the pricey end but the service sours the experience.More

Stopped by with my daughter to get some ice cream. After ordering at the counter and paying £10 for 3 scoops of ice cream, stood around while staff rushed about and ignored us for quite a while. I've also been there for lunch and dinner....The food is generally very nice - but expensive.More

Regrettably my experience of this trendy, pretentious restaurant was anything but enjoyable My, albeit belated, request to change my light lunch choice from a sandwich to a salad was firstly accepted and then declined I was advised that I would have to pay for both...items as they were in the process of preparation but not even as yet delivered to the table It was impertinently suggested that I take home the sandwich I found this intransigent and unacceptable But all for the price of a not very good and stone cold bacon sandwich which took moments to make and could easily have been saved or dismantled for later use I endured a tedious and acrimonious argument with the staff and management Was it really worth their while to argue? I suffered the controversy again when paying the bill but paid, eventually, only for the sandwich Also I ordered a large glass of House Red Wine The cost was an exorbitant £9.91 – totally out of proportion to the cafe type situation This is a place not to be revisitedMore

When you’re having a full English breakfast it’s hard to give high praise for something so simple however when presented with excellent quality ingredients cooked to perfection and served by friendly helpful staff it’s easy to praise. Superb!

Friendliest of staff. Delicious coffees and a brunch that was to die for. Both mum and I had the Eggs Royale dish. The presentation was brilliant and the food was full of flavour. Highly recommend. Try your best to avoid grabbing a fresh cake or...pastry on your way out too ... Good luck with that. Will be back soon.More

We ordered a take away which cost over £70 - we asked for the arrabiatta with spaghetti but it was made with penne, the carbonara had so much pepper on it I couldn’t eat very much and the 2 salads were not handed over. Although we shared a quick pizza (‘which was very good) & the staff were friendly and attentive, my main reason for this review is the pizza dough. Java & Jazz kindly sold me several balls of their pizza dough as I have an oven at...home and I was had guests that evening. The dough (which I understand uses the local Fermento Bakery flour) is fantastic. The results that night were the best I’ve had (‘I’ve tried several doughs) and I froze a few to see how they’d work…again, they’re great once thawed. Perfect for impromptu pizza evenings. Cannot recommend them enough. Great product guys!More

Once again, 40 minutes waiting for 2 coffees. Why on earth do my family and I do this to ourselves? The excuse for the wait: "We're busy." God knows why, with this type of service; and that is no excuse. They must be busy serving...the most patient clientele know to mankind, I guess. The, at times rude, generally unprofessional staff are crying out for some basic training - i.e. a present, competent management. Highly disappointing. Staff rude, no please or thank you, sausage roll served cold not offered to heat, no cutlery for food or drinks given and had to ask. I asked for oat cappincino being lactose intolerant and was served normal milk which I discovered after a couple...of mouthfuls and therefore had to rush home as very ill!!More
