We booked in here for lunch between picking up a new car at nearby Wych Cross and taking the dog for a walk in Ashdown Forest in the afternoon. As we had our golden retriever in tow we ate in the bar area.

Went with a couple of friends on a Monday night for dinner. Food at best average, pub quiet and lacking atmosphere (was a Monday). Service OK, just. New owner apparently. They need to "shake the place up" a whole lot more.

Lovely local pub with open log fire.Menu very good but little short of veggie options though chef very helpful when asked. Would highly recommend winter or summer.Ideal for walking on Ashdown Forest .Dogs welcome in bar.
