Myself and my husband visited this pub for lunch today and it was lovely. We had the venison stew which was on the specials, and the Haddock.Both dishes were delicious and the tartar sauce was homemade and so good. We had the keylime pie for...dessert and it was so good. The lady that served us was so lovely and very friendly. The menu was so varied that I cant see anyone not finding something to their taste. I would definitely recommend The Flying Fish.More

Hands down my favourite pub in the area. Friendly service and superb food. The scallops are to die for! Compliments to the chef :)

Lady who served us was very busy but she was so warm, helpful and went out for her way to print off some sketch sheets for our kids to colour in. Sadly the food was poor. The fish batter was greasy and saturated in oil,...the fish and chips fish was rubbery, dried out and probably over-cooked. We had two vegetarian burgers but the burger was inedible, pastey, bitter and dull. I’ve had some amazing vegetarian pub meals but this was not the case. The menu was overly focused on meat but our daughter found her steak chewy and fatty and it took a lot of dissection. Finally, the dining area next to the kitchen was freezing and we had to have our coats on our laps to keep the shivers to a minimum. The food is reminiscent of poor pub food from the 70/80s. This place needs a new chef and complete refresh of the menu. The warmth of the staff is let down by the food sadly.More

We come to the fish as a family of 7 and we had the most amazing meal, the food was fantastic we had Pork Belly and also Venason and it was stunning dinner. The staff as always where amazing and welcoming, we then spent two...hours in the garden playing with the landlady's dogs and the kids where absolutely loving it. We had a lovely evening, which started as soon as we walked in the door. We received a wonderful welcome from Lex who made us feel really special all evening. Found this little pub during the first lockdown and was so amazed by the food I returned 2 years later to be even more amazed by the food! I cannot fault the food at all and would highly recommend to anyone who wants a 10/10...meal and amazing service from the staff!More

We were recommended to this wonderful Pub / Restaurant - what a treat. Special mention must be made of the delightful Barmaid / Waitress and the Chef and his Team. A very generous starter of Mixed Olives. The Venison - both from the Standard and...Special Menu - was quite simply out of this world. Unbelievably tender and tasty.
