Wonderful 90th birthday party Sunday lunch for my aunt, which she loved. The food was delicious - such good roast beef cooked to perfection for all tastes. Those who chose fish, pork or chicken were equally happy. Ordering in advance was a geat idea and...worked so well. The staff were outstanding - they could not have been more attentive or efficient. A big thank you to you all.More

I’ve been to 47 The Street a couple of times because it’s a restaurant of choice for a friend but I still don’t get it. I find the food very basic and uninspired, as an “Italian” restaurant I don’t want to see Breaded Brie as...a started or Crème Brûlée as a desert but most of all I don’t want to pay stupid prices for very standard fare. Let’s be honest, Italian restaurants are ten a penny across the world so to make yourself stand out you need to be at the top of your game and sadly 47 The Street isn’t. For the record, our bill was over £500 for 11 people!More

Disappointing. Overrated and poor quality. First impressions: No side plates in table. No bread/roll. No water in jug or bottle (except by the glass from the bar). Fetch your own (over-priced) drinks from the bar. Poor range of beers. Prawn cocktail : 2 chewy king...prawns and a tiny sliver of smoked salmon served on soggy, overly-shredded lettuce with commercial sauce. No paprika. Asked for bread and given stale rock-hard granary and, eventually, frozen butter. Salmon: good but over-powering garlic in sauce. Vegetables poor. Brussels sprouts so under-cooked that couldn’t even be cut with a knife. Tiny scraps of potato pieces - some with green patches. Cheap, under-cooked green beans and half a carrot. Cassata: large portion but absolutely no flavour. Obviously cheap and mass-produced. Service: poor. Staff couldn’t even be bothered to walk around table to serve each person and just stretched across to shove plates at guests. I just managed to catch my plate of salmon before it landed in my lap. But good that they all wore masks.More

Waited ages for evening out here. Ordered linguine which was good, but only gave me a fork and knife to enjoy my pasta, had to ask for a spoon. Ordered tiramasu for dessert, was a bit watery, bit off-putting. Staff nice especially lady whose 2nd...day it was, she did really well. Otherwise too many people in small space.More

Only moved to Braintree recently and this was our first visit and it will not be our last. Starters, mains and desserts all on point and front of house team very engaging and welcoming - triple cooked chips are the best chips I’ve ever had...- and I’ve had a few ;I) No wonder this place was banging on a Tuesday nightMore

Food and service very good. However, £12.50 for a starter of tiger prawns is very excessive when I had 5 the size of a 10p piece with a garlic butter sauce. I was expecting much better for that price. Order with care!

Can't recommend this place highly enough. Staff are friendly and the food is excellent. Always extremely busy so always advise to book. Al La Carte menu is excellent and they are very accommodating when it comes to changing things for dietary requirements. Sunday Lunch is...just perfect and 3 courses are definitely excellent value for money.More

thank you for your enquiry. If the restaurant is not too busy, yes no problem, alternatively we may sit you in the conservatory area and of course dogs are welcome in the garden when the weather gets a bit better
