As we live in writtle, this is a stones through away, and great to be able to walk to a lovely venue. Always excellent food and service.

We visited this restaurant last night for a meal. The staff were incredibly attentive throughout our visit and every single one of them made us feel very welcome. The King prawn starter I had was definitely in the top three of starters I've ever eaten combining all of my favourite ingredients and cooked perfectly. I chose the lamb saddle for... More

Decided to take the mrs here after having a great meal before and was not disappointed. Dined from their set menu which for the price was good portions and choice, nice to also receive a special dessert as we were celebrating. Always make an effort here, can't wait to go back.

Met a colleague here for a business lunch and was great. Gave us a larger table on request without any issue. Service was prompt, attentive but without being intrusive. Food was fresh and ample portions for a lunch when having 3courses and good selection of soft drinks.

Game here last Friday for a girls night and the place was absolutely buzzing once again. And what can I say! I started with the lamb rump to start (definitely recommended) then the sol for main which was cooked to perfection. Ordered some sides which effectively we didn't need as the portion size was spot on. No room for dessert... More

Visited here for dinner for a family birthday on the weekend. Arrived early, greeted with a smile and fancies a few cocktails. I asked the bar tender if they could make me my favourite cocktail "old fashioned" even though it wasn't on their list. Within minutes the most delicious cocktail was put in front of me and tasted superb. Our... More

We booked this restaurant for my daughter`s birthday Wednesday evening, having heard great things about it. Nice decor and outside seating area , but the restaurant was cold, and lacked atmosphere. Starters were good; very tasty spicy satay chicken, great garlic prawns, but the main courses were very disappointing. To be honest, 4 out of 6 of us were not... More

It is a nicely decorated and presented restaurant. i think the fact we had a Groupon for lunch made it a less enjoyable experience than if we were full paying customers. The staff were polite but we felt "second class" and there was not much choice of dishes for Groupon clients

Visited previously and had a really exceptional dinner here. More recently it's changed hands and we've visited twice for Sunday lunch. Visiting this weekend confirmed that the food is fine but no better than your average pub offering at similar prices to those charged when the offer was more fine dining. For the prices charged there are better options in... More
