Went to our caravan today in Jaywick and then decided to have some lunch in Clacton. We had our dog with us so it meant eating something outside. It was a lovely day with not much happening and the only restaurant we found was McDonalds. We asked a passer by if they knew of a good fish and chip shop... More

Wanted a quick meal before going to the theatre. Fantastic fish and chips, hot and crispy, went for the special offer, fish chips tea or coffee and bread and butter. The restaurant is like going back to the 60's but a good experience. The amenities need a bringing up to date, maybe some renovation, like new carpet and modernising the... More

Visiting Clayton for the afternoon, we tried this traditional chip shop. We had the special, fish, chips, bread and butter and a tea/coffee for 7.60£ each. Fantastic portion, the fish had a nice light batter and was freshly cooked. Chips were equally light , crunchy and decent size. For a lunch couldn't knock it.

Geo's Fish Bar is very convenient as it is in the town and it is situated near to the public square where there is a lot of seating. So, if you don't want to sit inside Geo's to eat, you can buy a takeaway and sit outside to eat it. My husband and I had a portion of chips each... More

Just around the corner from our hotel. Cheap and cheerful, well cheap anyway. Food great plain old fish and chips but well done, good portions, very cheap. Sitting down in a fish bar is of course not a salubrious night out but was great for us on this night, and the decor is quite nice really. My only criticism was... More

Wonderful meal, attentive staff. Haddock and chips were fresh. Inexpensive for the amount of food your received.

Only one complaint about Geos is that i can never finish a meal. Huge portions of really fresh quality food. George and the team are always friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend a visit.

Best fish and chips we had in years. Fish tasted so fresh and the oil it has been cooked in must have been fresh too. Perfect chips. Generous portions. Next time in Clacton we will definitely have fish and chips in Geos.
