Our group of walkers visited the Western Arms for lunch today. A warm welcome, with a good range of beers including traditional hand pumped Greene King IPA and Old Speckled Hen. A good range of pub style reasonably priced food on the menu, which apparently...is under review. The service wasn’t particularly quick, but it was pleasantly executed and worth the wait. Between the ten walkers we enjoyed six different meals plus three different desserts. We are happy to recommend the Western Arms and we look forward to returning before too long.More

Like a previous reviewer. we visited on Sunday, 4th July. Quite a long wait before our order taken, and then a further 35 minute wait for carveries to arrive. Our Yorkies were also burnt - we just didn't eat that part, but poor quality control...in allowing that to be served. The stuffing balls were also crunchy and overcooked. The rest of the food was fine, although the belly pork portion was pretty small, and even the peas were still hard.More

Been there a few times recently, the high standard is quite consistent. The food and service is good, and not too expensive. Food takes a while to arrive, but it is worth the wait.

Well there was good quality, and big quantities of food. It took a long time to arrive but I suppose good quality takes time. The food was served by friendly staff. The tables were a bit close considering social distancing, seemed to meet possibly the...bare minimum requirements.More

This is my local pub, it has never really been that nice if I’m honest it was always empty, not much atmosphere and lots of visiting traveller families however that is no longer the case. Personally I think it could still do with a few...more customers thru the door but the food here is now as it should be. I have had their burgers and they always come out as I want and the last two trips which were this month I had gammon, chips and eggs and it was about as perfect as I could have hoped. It was a nice thick piece of gammon and the eggs were cooked perfectly which is so rare for a pub these days but they do it like that every time I’ve ordered. I’ve tried the pizzas and my family have ordered the scampi and several other dishes which consistently come out well. Silver End is a quiet village and perhaps people haven’t been in for how it used to be but please take it from someone who is very fussy when it comes to food. The beers clean, the staff are friendly and the food is exactly how you would want it to be, I will keep going and I suggest you try it too.More

I done a review recently without sampling the food however i have returned with family and between us we had burger, fish and chips, hunters chicken and I had the best steak pie i have ever had. Everyone really enjoyed their meal. The restaurant was...warm and comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful . However dont be in a rush as everything is cooked fresh so there will be a bit of a wait but worth it . I highly recommend this restaurant.More

Thank you for your views but I believe you have the wrong pub as firstly we have just had a full refurbishment. We have also never had any issues with a power cut and we are a family run pub so don’t fall under the...More
