Temporarily Closed A very warm welcome to the Butchers Arms. One of the oldest pubs in the Forest of Dean, we have been welcoming locals and visitors alike since 1802. Our menu combines signature 'Butchers' dishes with traditional British favourites, our modern recipes and grills are all prepared by Head Chef Matt Wheeler and his team from the freshest ingredients. Wherever possible we will endeavour to provide produce from local suppliers so you can truly have a taste of the Forest of Dean. We pride ourselves in providing good quality food, excellent service and a relaxed atmosphere. All our food is cooked fresh to order, so please allow a little time for service. Excellent menu, great locally sourced food and friendly staff. Decent kids menu and good selection of beers too. Well worth going out of your way to visit.

Good, fresh prepared food from a large selection on the menu, oak beams and an open fire. Been more than once and food consistently good. Friendly helpful staff.

Couldn't have wished for a nicer village pub, it became our local while we were staying in the beautiful village of Clearwell- food good value with plenty of choice- nice atmosphere with friendly staff- Thank you.
