Lovely food Made to my requirements

A great big Thank you to the cook at Vindaloo who made my meal extra mild (I'm not a spicey person and I'm fussy) it was Valentine's night so they were really busy, but they took time to make sure they knew what I want and what I couldn't eat. I order from then regularly and always get great service. Delivery can take a while on busy night but they normally let you know approx how long. That just shows how popular they are in my opinion. And well worth waiting for, always friendly and polite.

First time takeaway - won't be the last!

During lockdowns, we have ordered from a few local Indian restaurants which offer delivery and in every instance (until last night from Vindaloo), food has arrived much later than expected, item(s) have been missing or food has been lukewarm. So, with some trepidation, we ordered from Vindaloo last night. We were not disappointed! Food arrived within the time frame given (90 mins - fair enough on a Friday in a pandemic!), all items were there, food was fresh and still hot...and really delicious. Thank you, Vindaloo...will definitely order again!

They deliver!

I always use Vindaloo and they've never let me down yet. I use the delivery service, and whether I order by phone or online, it's always a prompt service, the correct order delivered, and it's always delicious. I placed a large order for the family tonight and it was all delivered in about half an hour....quicker than the estimated delivery time. Every dish was hot and tasted wonderful. I would definitely recommend, especially now when restaurants are closed but they can and will still deliver food.

Worst experience I have ever had.

My daughter who has just got a new job, decided to treat me to a curry. We ordered from Vindaloo, NEVER AGAIN, when the food arrived, the driver (who I found out later is the manager) said to hold the bottom of the bag as the food is heavy. When I went to dish up, the package of a very expensive curry was damaged (it was at the very bottom with everything on top), leaked into the bag and over other items, we also had missing items. Therefore, my daughter rang the restaurant, the person was polite and said he would deliver the missing items and damaged item, which I was happy with..... However, the driver/manager rang after the call to Vindaloo, and I could hear him shouting at my daughter. Therefore, I took over the call, to hear the manager saying he handed me the naam bread and he told me it was damaged. I explained if I would have realised how damaged it was, I would not have accepted it. The driver/manager then proceeded to tell me I am lying and started shouting at me, to say I was shocked is an understatement, I have never been spoken to in that way. He eventually agreed to bring the missing items and damaged item, however, I was then worried about, what they may do to the food. We rang Just Eat to request a refund, they tried to call Vindaloo without success, and I was talking to them whilst the driver/manager returned, I advised him I wanted a refund, he again started to shout and be disrespectful, thankfully, Just Eat overheard and took note. The driver/manager said he wanted all the food back, which we did, photographing the damage and the fact we gave it all back (just in case!) Just Eat said leave it ten minutes and to call the restaurant regarding completing the order enabling a refund to be processed. When I rang and said I was ringing for a refund, they said ‘which one’, which did not bode well. I said our address and they said they did not have an order for that address, I explained we ordered via Just Eat, and I explained what had happened. I checked if the driver was a manager, which he said he was. I then spoke to the driver/manager and requested the refund, which he said he was not going to do, he is not having any of this monkey business, and proceeded to be rude once again telling me ‘I was told wrong by Just Eat, he does not have to give refunds’. Unbeknown to the driver/manager I recorded him, including admitting he took all the food back. This is being escalated by Just Eat, you have been warned.

Good Evening Sir/madam, I the owner of Vindaloo would like to apologise for your unpleasant experience with Vindaloo. Unfortunately, I had to go into hospital Sunday morning and came back out Monday night so I had told one of my employee who's normally very good to be the temp manager. Tuesday morning I was going through reviews and found your review which shocked me , after I read your review I straight away called the staff who I placed as temp manager. Consequences were given to the employee, I myself sat down with him had a talk and also told him to do a course made by me about customer service. Once again I do sincerely apologise from the bottom of my heart and I can assure you this will never happen again. We would love if you would give us another chance! At Vindaloo our aim is provide the best food possible and also the best customer service around. Once again I am very sorry and still in shock

Poor customer service

We placed a online delivery, for 29.35 and requested salad and mint sauce with our starter, we were really surprised to get a phone call asking for more money, especially as a regular customer. Just greed. It felt really sour, I didn't trust them to prepare our meal after that, so cancelled the order. Hope they lose there regulars if that's how they treat them. The food isn't that great either bland, with chilli powder. Raw onions. Were not going back. Good luck

Hi sir, Unfortunately we don’t normally give salad and mint sauce for free as to make salad and mint sauce we also have costs. Sir we have 10 staff to pay, all our suppliers have increased their price for chicken etc. During this pandemic it’s hard. Also sir I believe my colleague had said he would give you a salad and mint sauce this time. I understand you are a regular customer, which shocks me to hear that because we didn’t give salad and mint sauce now the food is bland. Thank you. Hope you understand!

Still consistently good

As the title says food is always excellent one can rely on a tasty meal each every time. however the wait time does vary, its not unusual for the food to be 34-60 mins late however it is worth waiting for so not an issue. The food is unlike any other Indian restaurant in the area.

Where to start... This Indian in Farnborough is by far the best quality I have had. The flavours are intense and fresh, Food is always delivered on time or early and at a great temperature. I ordered last night for my Birthday dinner. They're always so welcoming and polite and made the ordering process easy. I'd like to say a massive thank you also for my Banana Fritters 🍌 They were lovely.

11 Years of delicious food

I've been getting my Indian takeaways from these fine people since moving into the area 11 years ago. Hundreds of meals later I am yet to have had a single disappointing bite of food! Great range to the menu and they're more than happy to adjust things to suit dietary requirements. Occasionally I have tried curries from other local places, usually because of some kind of voucher or deal, but have always regretted it. Nothing comes close to the quality and taste I get at Vindaloo. I was in India a few years ago and this is the best I've had outside of the country itself. 100% recommended to anyone.

It couldn’t get tougher

Hadn’t had a takeaway from here for a while due to a bad experience last time so we usually go to Paprika these days but thought we would give the local another chance. The order took well over the hour to deliver and being less than 1/2 mile away was pretty poor☹️ I had a chicken vindaloo, my son had a chicken korma. The curry sauces were ok on both but the chicken in both curries was as tough as it comes which ruined the meal and puts Vindaloo to the back of the queue again, if fact taking into account the leathery naan breads and the poor popadums I won’t be buying from here again. But Vindaloo ☹️

Local gem, delicious food great value

Absolutely delicious food !!! Curry and rice was piping hot and really tasty plenty of big chunks of chicken. Had samosa , bhajee keema naan & roti all very nice and fresh full of flavor. I did wait for over an hour but peak time Saturday. And wait was quickly forgotten with food that tasty

Had our first Vindaloo takeaway tonight, very very nice i must say. I’ve eaten a lot of curry’s in my time and this was up there. Cheers chef. The mrs is very funny about her curry’s but even she’s in a good mood after that meal. Cheers

We've been using Vindaloo for a couple of years now, and it's never managed to be anything but excellent. Great quality food in perfectly sized portions, and not overly expensive. Even with all that's going on in the world at the moment, we still got our order quickly! Thanks guys :-)

Nice food, but you can wait 2-3 hours for it!!

No exaggeration, 2.5 hours! Expressed our disappointment in the review we were asked for and by email, but nothing back. Reading one or two previous reviews there is clearly a rudeness and arrogance problem also. When ordering if there is an extra ordinary wait, you should be tol, instead greed ruined our Evening. I even called them after 2 hours and it hadnt left the shop, but they didn’t seem to care! If you can wait 2-3 hours it’s worth having, but we will go back to Fleet Spice with free delivery and good food, good delivery times.

We ordered a takeaway from Vindaloo. We chose Vindaloo as it had good reviews and was reasonably priced. It arrived on time and was nice and hot. My lamb dhansak was delicious and really well spiced. My husband unfortunately thought his Balti was unexciting, but the kids were happy with their more and passanda. The peshwari naans were nice but not the best we’ve had. We would definitely order from Vindaloo again as it represents good value for money.

This really is the best curry around! We order a couple of times a week & they never disappoint. Their chicken tikka pathia & sagg paneer are amazing & their peshwari Nan is like a fluffy cake. Highly recommend them
