We were quite disappointed with our visit today. The place wasn't overly busy when we arrived yet it took a while to be acknowledged when we come in. We found a table and it was about 20 minutes before a member of staff came to...take a drinks order. We had to ask for menus and then we had to get someone's attention to take our order. With our order we also chose the "Dog roast" which was a nice touch. After about an hour...when a family who arrived and ordered after us were served their meal we had to ask where ours was! The meal was actually disappointing, not all the items listed on the menu were served (No carrots) the Yorkshire puddings were flat and the roast potatoes were hard. There was a good quantity of beef however. I wonder if it took so long to arrive to ensure we were actually hungry enough to eat it! We didn't order dessert as we didn't have the time to wait.... Pippin enjoyed his dog roast but it would have been nice to have eaten together!More

Me and my partner decided to go for a substantial meal and a few pints, this pub was lovely, staff very polite and friendly and the food was excellent. Good value for money. I can’t wait for lockdown to end so I can go back...and enjoy the burgers! This is by far the most welcoming pub in fleet. Give it a try you won’t be disappointed.More

An unexpected visitor, so we made the last minute decision to try our "Local", The Tweseldown, for a Thursday Lunch. Staff very polite and helpful. Covid 19 security handled efficiently, giving us confidence. Speedy service to our comfortable table, with three excellent, hot and tasty...traditional Main Courses and delicious Desserts. Altogether a very good, comfortable experience!More

Visited here for lunch with friends and children. Such a lovely place and great service. Delicious food and quite a varied choice considering most places have a reduced menu at the moment. All well handled in terms of being covid safe. I'm looking forward to...visiting again.More

Haven't eaten at the twesledown for a while and read mixed reviews on the food lately but.... We came for a Sunday roast today and it was really lovely. Perfectly cooked and carved beef (nice and pink) generous portion and veg was varied and cooked...well, potatoes OK. Great service with a smile, nothing too much trouble. Definitely going to come back.More

After visiting Fleet in Hampshire, we decided to have lunch at the Tweseldown. The welcome was a friendly one by the lady behind the bar, drinks were served, and food orders placed. We were extremely surprised when within ten minutes our food order was brought out to...us,we both thought that this was a little suspicious.we would have assumed that the Hunters chicken and the bacon and cheese burger both served with chips would have taken a bit longer to prepare and cook. As we were about to eat our food, two or three workmen arrived to do some work very close to where we were sitting. They continued to drill holes in a wall close by,with no apologies from the workmen or the pub staff. Now we are not the fussy type, but you would have thought that arrangements could have been made to carry out any work inside before the pub opened, obviously a oversight by the management. Even though the workmen were finished within twenty minutes or so,it ruined our meal.More

We tried our luck in being able to get a table for two here at lunchtime on 19 Dec after having no luck at another local nearby. Yet again as we had not booked up in advance and they already had big Christmas party arriving...we missed out. Instead we had a drink and found a table in the bar area. There is a big TV at each end of the pub so I was looking at one screen with sport and my wife the other with the news. The bar service was very good and extremely friendly. The place has certainly had some big alterations since we were last in here and looks very good. The car park however is still very difficult when busy as we found out. Anyway it’s a lovely old pub and really worth a visit.More
